I also love to travel, and have been to more than fifty countries, but I'm sorry to say South American countries aren't among them. Like most people, I'd love to visit Rio, especially for Carnaval. However it's very expensive.

I think putting prices up in the high season is a universal thing.

Yes, it is a common thing to happen. Also availability might be challenging at such a popular time of the year.

I am sure that Rio is a very beautiful city with the lovely looking Sugar Loaf Mountain overlooking it. I think hotels probably put their prices up high during the carnival.

I would love to see Machu Picchu in my lifetime. It looks phenomenal and other people have said it was the most amazing thing they've ever seen. I'll have to get better first though. Sadly at the moment I'd never cope with the walk to get to it. :(

Oh yes. I would love to walk the exciting but challenging Inca Trail up to the amazing site of magical Machu Picchu. I think that you would have to get very fit before such a great walk.

Luckily there is a train that goes up there as well. The walk is demanding but the train ride would be interesting and scenic.

I would love to travel to South America. I've never been there, but everytime I see pictures or read an article, it looks great. Among the places I would love to go are Venezuela (Iaguzzu Falls...sorry if the spelling is off) and to Argentina. Also the huge park at the end of the continent, Torres del Pain, looks awesome. National Geographic runs tours to South America (as well as a lot of other great places) and I'd love to go on one of theirs. Are you going to South America? I love to travel, but haven't been anywhere in a couple of years and I am just dreaming of travel right now!

You are absolutely right about Angel Falls! I need to get out my geography books. South America is one of those continents I need to learn more about. Angel Falls was discovered (well, by outsiders anyway) when a pilot crashed there, if I remember right. Of course, going down the Amazon (which I think is also possible in Venezuela) would be great too. One time I was thinking about going to Aruba (never went, of course), and it seemed possible to hop over to South America easily from there.

Yes, the Angel Falls were discovered by Jimmy Angel, I think. How amazing it must have been for him. Venezuela offers lots of exciting scenery like wildlife, beaches and the jungle. Margarita Island is quite popular. I would love to see the River Amazon. Yes, the ABC Islands have lovely Dutch architecture as well as gorgeous beaches.

Yes, there are some wonderful looking waterfalls in South America. I think the one in Venezuela are called Angel Falls and are situated in the jungle. The ones in between Brazil and Argentina are called the Iguazu Falls. Yes, I an not sure of the spelling either. I would love to do the Inca Trail in Peru. One day I would like to save up to go on a cruise around the Galapagos Islands. I will go to South America but I wonder when. I also dream of traveling right now.

I also love to travel... and i have dreamed of travelling to South America... particularly the Amazon River... this place really interest me since it is like the last frontier for forest lovers... aside for that... this area is full of stories that made world history what it is today... If by chance i am able to go to the Amazon River... i would like to view it from the top through a helicoptor or a small airplane...

From the air the Amazon River must look quite stunning. The forest is beautiful and the small the communities that live on the river must be interesting to visit. I hope that you go there one day.

Are you buying our tickets??? (-; I haven't to South America yet, but I am dying to go! My grandparents spent a lot of time in South America, and would bring me gifts and the coins from there when I was a kid. I have met a lot of students from Brasil, Argentina, and Peru that come to Tahoe to work during their summer breaks of college. I think the country I am most interested in visiting first would be Peru. I want to see both the mountains of Machu Picchu and the eastern jungles and headwaters of the Amazon.
