I have written a discussion about this in the past. So I thought I would write about it again in case anyone missed my prior one. With tax time here, you can go to www.irs.gov and do your taxes for free for the ones that made 54,000 or less. Why pay for someone to do your taxes when you can do it for free and top it off, it offers free e-file so you will get it back quicker. I hope this helps people save money. If you know anyone that this might help, don't hesitate to pass it on.

Hello, I just happen to pass by and I see this url. Just would like to highlight that tax should be made free for filing. In my country, there are centers that help people for free to fill in their taxes. So, I think that the site you had given is very useful for filling in taxes. Good discussion here, chertsy.

Thank you, I found this out a few years myself and been using it ever since, until we make to much to not be able to use it. I told my niece about it, and it saved her money from paying someone to do it. Next year, I don't care what my parents say, I'm going to help them, to save money and do them as soon as my dad gets all of his w2's. I don't see the point of wasting money for someone else to do it, if you make a certain amount, and it's free, use it.

I used to do them myself, but I would have to mail them in, which took forever to get it back. With the IRS, you can get the efile. We have bought a house, and using the IRS links saves me time and money from having someone else do, what I would normally do myself. With the library, my niece went there, and did it like I did, online. The library there didn't offer help on her taxes except the kind if your going to mail it in. I like the web links, it's just easier, faster, and cheaper.

Savings is a very good habit of mine from childhood.I have saved and made many use of it. While i was in tenth standard i bought a bi-cycle from my pocket money. I used to give money to paresnt when thye were in need of iot. At times i used to pay my fees. NMow i'm married, in past 2 years being a house wife i have saved one lakh rupees only. Savings a good habit and has to be cultivated from school-age.

I've never gone to that site to do my taxes it is like you plug in the numbers and it does the rest for you? I've always done my own taxes. Years ago just after college I took a tax course from H&R Block it was very helpful, I even got hired on to work one tax season because I finished the course with an A. I learned a lot. My taxes aren't complicated (no home, business, depreciation etc) just wages. When I become rich then I'll pay someone to do it because it will be a lot more complicated.

Even though you do your own taxes, you can still go to any of these sites and fill it out and see what they come up with. If it's the same, then you can efile for free and get your money back a lot faster than mailing it in. Unless you owe, that's a different story.
