Do you still have anything from childhood?

Does anyone still own things now that they were given as a baby or small child and if so what is it and does it have a special meaning for you? I still have a name bracelet that was given to me at birth by my uncle & aunty.... I have kept it and worn it heaps throughout my life and on my wedding day it was my "something old" as it was the oldest thing I own (well it is as old as I am) It is very special to me as it is one thing I have had all my life :)

The only thing that I have saved from when I was a baby was my first stuffed elephant. It's yellow and really dingy looking because I carried it around everywhere. I'm really happy that I still have it and it brings back lots of good memories and comfort. It's just one of those things that will always be special and make you feel better.

I also think it is important to be able keep things from your childhood but unfortunatley not everyone is able to for some reason.... I do have other things from when I was a kid to that I let my daughter use... like books - she loves reading. That is great you still have teddies your dad bought and the bracelet too

My grandma gave me her comb made of turtle's back/house which she had bought way back in 1928. Today, I placed it in a box as my remembrance from her, as well as, it's an antique thing.....priceless.....!

I hope you find your teddy at your parents - that would be great to be able to have it back with you :) Great that you also have the lion as well.

I have quite a bit of stuff from when I was a child. I have a lot of books that I gave to my son to read. I have a bunch of stuffed animals too. The things that I have that mean a lot to me are the dolls that my grandmother made for me. Some of them I let my daughter play with, but some of them are pushing 30 years old and are too fragile for her.

That is good that you have quite a bit from when you were a child... also great that your daughter is able to play with some of them - I understand she would not be able to play with all of them.

I have a stuffed dog that was my first stuffed animal. That would make it 25 years old :D. Actually at the moment it is sitting on the shelf right next to my desk. I also have a white stuffed teddy bear that was the last gift given to by my grandmother 3 days before she passed away (when I was 6). It is in my closet. He has a huge hole in his neck and all the stuffing is gone, but I will never ever ever part with it, it is the item I own with the most emotional attatchment to it. And even though its not that old I have a napkin from when I graduated (2000) that my grandpa wrote "Congratulation, Kalyn! Love, Grandpa" Its in a photo album, he passed away in 2003.

That is good that you still have your 1st stuffed animal :) Also I can understand keeping your teddy from your grandmother - I would have also kept that and the letter as they have special meaning to you :)

I have a stuffed bunny rabbit that was my first christmas gift, it has blue eye glasses that you can remove, and 2 pockets, and in one pocket it has 3 colorful keys and in the other pocket it has a pink pocket watch, now its 23 years old, we have moved so much from one house to the other that i had to throw away many things from the past, but never my bunny, he's a traveller like me :) i have it in my room, his nose is a little bit broken, but aside from this he is ok.
