Out of curiosity, would you loan your car to a friend? Would what they needed it for make a difference or would it depend on whether your insurance would cover a driver other than yourself.
Personally, I would rather drive my friend than let them use my car unless my insurance covered them. My daughter didn't think it would matter until she let her boyfriend (of the time) use her car to drive to a nearby convenience store while she was at work. Unfortunately, he wrecked the car & the insurance didn't cover him. Of course he didn't pay for any of the damages either.
She learned the hard way. What about you?

No I wouldn't lend my car to ANYONE! I lent my car recently to my son as his car was off the road, and he needed a car to get to work. During the time he had it (2 months), he got 2 parking fines. The letters came to me of course, but he has still not paid them, and the amount is increasing the longer he leaves it. In desperation, I paid them a couple of days ago - he said he will pay me back but I doubt if I will ever see the money. So my answer is a definte NO - I would not lend my car to anyone.

Well, it would really depend on who it was, and the situation and make sure if they did, my Insurance would cover them, and make sure they are a Good driver. Since our car is a 2006 Subaru Forester, we are a little protective of it since we are still paying on it.
For the most part, it would be a lot easier to help find them ways to get around where they need to go, as at least that way, I would know my Car would be ok.

I probably would.
However, it depends what "sort" of friend and what they're like. There's different types and some "trusted" friends I know, I would lend such an important thing to because of various reason. Generally I would though, I don't mind being helpful when I can.

No, never. I wont loan my car to my friend. Not only my car , nothing . I wont lend anything unless its too important or necessary. I willl hep him or her by pleding if the situiatuon is mopre worse. Would what they needed it for make a difference or would it depend on whether your insurance would cover a driver other than yourself.Car is greatly liked by my husband, he is so fond of it. So i never let him to be so careless.

It depends on which friend and where they need to go. Yes, i have driven friends places. The friends I have loaned vehicles to were very responsible and if my insurance did not cover them, theirs would have. I am fairly picky, though.

It depends on how reliable they are and whether or not they could afford to fix it if they wrecked it.

I have a friend who owns a BMW.But there're always many friends loaning his car. He's very tired of this.So I'm very confused whether to buy a good car as if two friends need my car at the same time I don't know what to do...

I'd have to say no, especially since they wouldn't be on my insurance policy to begin with. I would rather them be upset with me for saying no, rather than loose a friendship because I allowed them to drive my vehicle and it got wrecked in the process. It just isn't worth it, in my opinion.

We have loaned our car. To both friends and family. But my husband is wise to the insurance situation. He has one stipulation. You want to borrow my car? Put it on your insurance 1st. Then he is good to go. Sorry about the daughters boyfriend. I assume this was a catalyst for him no longer being her boyfriend.
