Transformers, the movie did well in the U.S box office, a lot of people loved it. I think the idea and the storyline are cool but, do you think it is overrated? Honestly the movie is ok but not my kind of movie. This is all I can say.
What about you guys???

They had to give the movie a big hype due to the transformers cartoon being so populare. I honestly think they did really well on making it intresting and enjoyable for all ages. The graphics were amazing and they did a good job of the movie I thought.

Hi there, what I meant was, I'd luv 2 go see it coz it is worth-seeing movie but it is not my kind of movie or let me say it isn't the movie I would wanna watch again. For instance, I loved Nicole Kidman's the Others and don't mind watching it again coz it is my kind of movie.
Thank you very much for your follow-up comment and looking forward to hear from you again.

Hi there nice to see you here ...
You know, before I saw the movie I watched clips from that movie in U.S box office coverage, and at first glance i said to myself: it isn't my type i ain't gonna watch it, but what happenend was; I heard people commending the movie saying it is cool, it is great. I said to myself then I gotta see it, so, I saw it, it is good but not really wow you know what i mean?

I think the problem with this movie was that alot of kids played with Transformers. When my son was younger that was the thing. The movie definately was not for little kids.
I thought it was good. Too much action at the end.
Maybe a bit overrated, but that is how they got people in to see it.
I bought it for my son for xmas and have yet to watch it again.

hello,
Basically the movie was helped, on a massive level by members of the ex generation who used to watch the original cartoon as kids. like me :D
this is where the hype, heavy motivation came from leading the to the massive suxess you kindly referred to. The essential element the movie makers - director is a member of that generation also- depended on. He also kept in mind that he has to creat something the fans of his generation would love and approve of, which was btw away from the original cartoon.
for the kids of today it was a fancy CGI flick. For us, it was a moment of our childhood history coming to life!!

I agree with you, maybe it is a part of large sector of viewers' childhood but definitely wasn't a part of mine, yet the movie is good and very nicely done, I just as I said, it isn't my kind of movie, but eventually it is worth-seeing film.
Thanx my friend for your valuable input.

As someone who grew up watching the G1 transformers, as well as the poorly done animated movie, I thought that this movie was really good. Was it perfect? Of course not. But I still thought it was done pretty well. I'm so afraid to give out spoilers here so I guess I'll give a SPOILER WARNING.
When this movie was in production I got to see a chat with two of the writers on Yahoo and they said one of the things that they were going to do was continue the relationship that Starscream and Megatron had in the G1 shows. Well that didn't happen and I was dissapointed. Starscream had way too little airtime if you ask me. I was really hoping to see him try to take charge and diss Megatron the way he did in the G1 shows, while Megatron was still frozen and then Megatron threatening to obliterate him once on of the other decepticons told Megatron of Starscream's behavior. That's what made Starscream such a great character in G1. He liked to show defiance to Megatron but at the same time he was never in a position to ever dethrone him. I wanted to see that defiance in the movie and it never happened and that's what really dissapointed me because that made Starscream just another transformer and he was so much more than that in G1.
And then at the end there when Megatron rips Jazz in two. I swear if that had been Hot Rod instead of Jazz then every G1 fan would have been in a state of nirvanna or something. Anyone that saw the animated movie knows what I'm talking about. I mean that's how much people hated Hot Rod. So I think the writers should have thought about that.
But other than those two things, I think the movie was well done. I really liked the role that John Tuturro played. Again the movie wasn't perfect but I still think that it was a lot better than it could have been.

I think people who grew up with the cartoon and have passion for the story I guess they liked the movie. It is similart to someone who grew up with Batman comics or whatever, you know what I mean. Thank you again for your valuable remarks on the movie and looking forward to hear more from you.
