This one will really shock you, my friend told me this story yesterday, i'm not sure where he heard it i think off of the internet. Anyway this woman owned i believe it was a Burmese ~Python quite a large one aswell at least 7ft. He hadn't eaten for a while so she was getting worried and telephoned her vets about it. The vet asked her some questions on the phone about the snake and if there was anything else that she could think about that might be making him ill ect, she replied well not really but at the moment he is out of his tank and stretching himself out lengthways and acting quite strange, seeming to be looking at her. He told her to get the snake to him immediately, she said why and he told her that the snake was stretching out like that and looking at her to size her up and see if she would fit, so he could eat her.. Thats so freaky.
Maybe snake owners or anyone knowing about snakes could confirm for me if this could be a true story and really would happen...

7ft is nothing for a Burmese Python. They can grow up to 25ft (that's what... 8m!).
Snakes do not see so well with their eyes. They use scent and heat sensors in their heads (cannot for the life of me remember the name... gah).
I don't believe that story but quite frankly anyone that owns a Burmese Python and knows so little about snakes pretty much deserves to be eaten by one.
They are a growing menace in American swamp lands. People get them as cute little babies. They grow quickly and to immense sizes. Instead of handing them over to the authorities people just dump them in the wild. Not good.

wow thats nuts. I got the chills when I read where the vet was saying that the snake was sizing her up. I would never own an animal like that, one that could kill me. Just the thought alone that a snake that size could wrap around you and basically strangle you. The thoughts alone scare me. Hopefully the lady listened and got rid of the snake. Just a thought though, if the vet told you the snake was sizing you up would you even want to go near it after that? I know I wouldn't want too. I'd be out of that house and calling animal control or something. No way would I be going near it.

same here, i'm not sure what exactly happened but i would run as fast as i could out of the house for sure.... I know someone that has two of them, they arn't that big yet and they wouldn't listen if i told them but i don't think they should be kept in a domestic environment at all....

I love it. Hissing Sid didn't take out a tape measure by any chance? haha
You can't go anywhere now. I mean, there you are sitting on the loo and a python or a baby alligator pops up and grabs your wedding tackle!! Ouch!!
Yep, I think Urban Myth sums it up.
Oh yes, and I think snakes are really great though I don't have one myself.

That's one of the reasons why I don't like snakes as pets :( So scary!! I wouldn't know what to do if I encounter that moment..
