whom you treat as best friend?the one criticises you when you are wrong or the one who is with you in spite of you being in the wrong blindly supports you and never comments about your actions.the one who is with you during all your troubles and shoulders your resposibilities without giving you scope to face the difficult times.i expect a good friend is one who keeps at arms length and comes to help only when asked and not a snoopy one

Amen to that. I think a friend is someone you can count on when you need them but they do not force themselves into your life at all times.
I think a friend lends a good ear and listens and respects you.

I think the second is correct, bcoz a best friend is friend that shows u the correct path rather taking you to the wrong side.

None of the few friends I have is my "best" friend, because each of them is a blessing in her own way. They are honest, trustworthy and supportive. We've shared a lot of laughter, and shed some tears along the way. I've been there for them and they have been here for me.
When I'm doing something questionable (stupid or unwise), if I tell her about it, she might suggest another way. One of my friends is somewhat judgmental and tells me what I "should" do. I like her anyway. She means well.
