Hello everyone,I am seriously worried right now.I have three children all delivered by c section because I have high blood pressure. All of the children were taken prematurely and my life has always been at risk whenever I was pregnant. So my husband and I decided that I would get a tubal ligation done so we wouldnt be taking risk with my life again. The only problem is that my daughter is only six months old and I now think I am pregnant. Is this possible?Does anyone know of it happening to anyone you know?I am very worried because of all the health risks that are involved everytime I have a child. What can I do?This is The Bahamas so I cant even sue my doctor,I dont know what to do.

If the procedure was not done correctly, then there is every chance of your getting pregnant. I think you should immediately rush to the doc for a pregnancy test. Suing can always come later.

You can't sue for this unless it is proven that the doctor intentionally did something wrong. But, doctors will tell you that sometimes pregnancies can happen after tubals, and this is true for men as well.

you arent real clear, but i am guessing that you have had the tubal already? first i would get a pregnancy test to make SURE you are pregnant, then if in fact you are, talk to a lawyer to see what recourse you have.

As per my Understanding normally after 2 caesarians doctors usually advice the couple not to have child further. There are many cases where women got pregnant even after tubectomy. Its a case of medical negligence. In our country we can very well sue the Doctor.

You can have 3 c sections, sometimes 4 depending on the Dr.

I think the first thing you need to do is go get a pregnancy test. There's no need to get all worked up about the health risks of a pregnancy if you don't even know that you are pregnant for sure. Worrying and thinking you're pregnant can just bring on more pregnancy like symptoms so you'd be better off just finding out for sure as soon as possible....besides I'm sure the stress itself isn't doing you any favors right now either. Post pregnancy hormaones can do strange things so it could just be that. You didn't really say why you think you're pregnant. If you aren't then you should probably just speak with your doctor about how your ligation was done so you know how much you can or can't trust it. There's no rule that says you can't use an alternative form of birth control after a ligation so do that if it makes you more comfortable...especially since for you it isn't a matter of not wanting a pregnancy but a matter of major health problems if you do. If you are pregnant I don't have any suggestions other than to work with your doctor and everybody else you know to keep your blood pressure in check so you can have a safe pregnancy. I know there is another option but I don't want to mention that without knowing your opinion of it and because it can create a very heated discussion among those opposed to it...which in general I am also but I can also admit the health of the mother is important and even more so when she has other children at home.

My problem with doing a test is that I have to be at least 4 moths pregnant for anything to show up,its weird I know. With my other kids i never even knew i was pregnant until I felt them moving.Thats what I am experiencing now,but im still hoping Im wrong.

I know how that is! With my 3rd I started suspecting I was pregnant and called right in to the doctor and ultrasound...by the time appointments got made I thought I was 9 weeks at the most. Except the technician looked at me funny and said no, you are definitely 17 weeks! What about going to the doctor for blood tests or ultrasound? I'm sure under the circumstances he/she would be understanding of your need to find out as soon as possible.

Not sure why you wouldn't test positive on a urine test? They can be wrong sometimes but after a month your body starts producing the pregnancy hormone and that is what the test searches for. You can always get a blood test, they are free at walk in clinics. But, if you show up negative on a urine at 4 months you are probably not that far along. At each week of your pregnancy your hormone level will increase, this is the same thing that is tested with blood. Not having pregnancy "symptoms" is normal is alot of people but your hormone level will be there if you are pregnant. Oh, I worked as a medical assistant in an OB office for 3 years, that is how I know!!! Hope that helped and good luck.

Even though your daughter is only 6 monts old doesn't mean you can't get pregrent. I have a couple of cousions, that is a year apart. one was born Feb. 28, 1950, and the other was born Feb 8 1951. so it can happen, I don't know about finding a Dr. where you are, but you really need to find a way to get to one.

I would agree with what every one else is telling you. Go get a pregnancy test before you stress yourself out to much. There is no 100% when it comes to pregnancy. You will always have a chance of geting pregnant. It does not matter if it's the man or the women geting it done they can heal months or years down the road. You will not be able to sue for this. I know that were I live they made a new Law that says you cannot get your tubes tied as soon has you have the baby because their had been to many women geting pregnant afterwards and they were sueing. I don't know when you had it down or what the laws are were you are but I doubt you will be able to sue for this.

I know in Massachusetts (US) I am getting my tube tides as soon as I have my baby, they do it all the time. I completly agree with you that nothing is 100%, since I have 3 boys that are all birth control babies!! and this one my boyfriend has a vasectomy!

Tubal ligation does have a small percentage of failures - it is not 100% guaranteed to be successful. Sometimes the tubes recanalise or the egg simply finds its way to the uterus. If the surgical technique was good and your doc was good - it may not be his fault at all. You can do a pregnancy test to confirm and then go ahead with the pregnancy.

I think that the tubal isn't 100%, i also have a friend who had one and got pregnant. I actually have a discussion on mylot about tubals and how effective they are because i am thinking of getting one with my c section in 2 and a half months. It is possible to get pregnant. You should take a test if you think you are and then weight your options. I have haerd that yo have to be careful in the first 6 months after you have a tubal. I hope that you are not pregnant, and i hope i dont become pregnant after i have mine. Let us know how it works out for you.

This might be possible. I would have a talk with your doctor, explain the risks and find out if you are pregnant. If you are not, and you know that you are at an extremely high risk, get the tubal ligations, else wait until the next baby is born and get it done then. The only reason you should sue your doctor is if he did not explain the risks although he knew about them, and if he suggested birth control or pills, etc. that he knew did not work when he knew another pregnancy would kill you.

Ok let's take a deep breath, First go to the store and buy a pregnancy test if it comes back that you are visit your obgyn to make them do a bllod test. That way your positive about the results. SEcond I see that you got your tubal ligation done. that being said chances your pregnant are slim if you have been going through any kind of stress or weight gain that can through off flo your monthly visitor. It's rear that the tubal ligation have spontaneous regrowth but it does happen so see your doctor. Third if you are pregnant sue the dickens out of your doctor then get a new one. I'm sorry your stressed and not sure if your pregnant but take a deep breath sit down and relax. have a nice night.

It is very possible to get pregnant after having a tubal litigation sometimes the tubes come untied. There is a women who lives here that had a tubal litigation done and 12 months later had twins. When you get the tubal done you should have the tubes tied and burned to help prevent the pregnancies.

I would see if I could find a doctor in the Fl. to do the tubal this time and get it done right. Sometimes you can find a generous doctor who will offer his services for free. Start searching now!!! This can happen if the doctor did not cauterize (burn the ends) the tubes when he cut them. Some doctors do not believe in birth control like that and do not do it correctly because of their religion. I have heard of this before. I hope that you have a safe pregnancy and delivery. Did you get the tubal ligation? If you did it is very possible that the procedure wasn't done right. And if you didn't it is also very possible after having your daughter 6 months ago. I suggest go and get checked and see if you are or not. That's the only way to be totally sure about it. Good luck to you.
