I love listening to those old songs from when I was growing up, and listening to what is out there now. Time sure has changed over the years.

Actually, my mom will be in the car with me, and I'll sing a song from the 70s, and she'll say she has never heard it. And she has said that about several songs in that era. So I asked her if she knew those were from 'her day'. She said no, she had no idea. She can recognize some Three Dog Night, and that is it.
But I know why. She got married when she was 16, then got a full time job, had my sister when she was 19, and me when she was 21. She didn't have time to listen to music! lol In her 30's she got her bachelors degree and in her forties she got her Masters. She has no clue about music! And my dad never listened to music because his family was too poor to afford a radio.

I admire her too. Before she got her Masters she went through an awful health crisis. She fought her way out. She just quit her job, and I think she is discouraged, so I'm hoping she'll find a job she is happy with and can leave it there when she comes home to my dad. You know, just not think about it once she walks out the door of her work.

You're getting old. just kidding. I am one of the old parents. I have noticed my children , now 24 and 32, listen to a lot of the music I listened to when I was younger. I don't even listen to most of that music anymore, myself. I like the softer, mellowier, country type of music. I always have all my radios on a country station.
But my children, now, they are listening to it. I was a bit surprised when I started hear their music playing. My daughter even owns a couple country CD. She says it's because of when I come visit there is something for me to listen to. She's just kidding though, because I see her playing them when I'm not around for the day.
