The Madness! Don't you just HATE it when they forget a part of your order? And then they have the nerve to give you a look when you sit there and actually look thru your bag before you pull away. I just went to KFC and ordered an extra biscuit because what I ordered didnt come with one I had the honey & butter all ready. I was so mad to see it wasn't in the bag. How hard is it to get my order right? What is it a whole 6 items? Thats my money being wasted to because once I am home I dont want to drive back nor waste gas when it costs as much as gold as well as my time. I dont think it should be a gamble whether or not your order is correct.

Oh God I can totally relate to your story. It just happened to me yesterday. I ordered a Chicken Caesar Salad to go in Red Lobster - for $10.99 - foolish of me when I picked up the food after 30 minutes or so waiting I drove all the way back home. Opened up the bag and cover - there was no caesar salad dressing and no chicken inside. I was so upset - I had nothing bad lettuce and shredded cheese and the lettuce didn't even look fresh. I rushed back in there and complained to the manager about the food they sent me. The good thing was they gave me back my refund, gave me the proper food I needed and a free $25 Red Lobster gift card. Now that's what I call service.

Oh yeah - those are just things I tend not to tolerate. I understand how you feel on it. I don't even want to begin my story about what happened when I ordered two jalapeno cheese burgers from Carl's Jr. - they gave me only the bun with cheese and jalapeno. How can someone forget the burger? Sometimes I think it's a brain tease what these people do.

To be fair..
They're very busy, fast food isn't easy to cope under. I've had times when they've gotten my food and I only ask for plain things! Generally macdonalds is the worst, KFC here have a loyal way of saying sorry. My wife and I have had many free upgraded meals, I don't even want half of them.
Kudos,

I agree with you, I used to work at KFC when I was in high school and when it gets busy and your goal is to get people ordered adn their food w/in 3 min, it gets stressful and its very easy to miss things. We were very good at when people called back who didnt want to drive back in, we'd just take their name down and what they were missing on an index card. So the next time they come in to the area they can get it for free. It is an inconvenience when you're wanting that part of you meal right then, but when you order food from a Human, your going to have to deal with human error.

I could be slightly biased though as I've had personal experience with being pushed in a similar situation. (I used to waiter) thankfully most of the guests didn't let the money go to their heads and it's not I made the mistakes. (chef or someone wrote the one thing) LOL
Earlier today, a nice polite girl at macdonalds nearly ordered me an "ice burger" instead of a cheese burger, simple slip of the tongue but it made me wonder if the chef would of given me a "bug with ice" if my wife didn't say "oh, no ice in the drink please"... hehe ~Joey

I hate it when that happens to me. although the fast food chain crews here are mostly nice and "afraid" of the customers so they would just be willing to comply to every customer's needs.
what annoys me is when they would forget some of my orders which I thought they were preparing while I was waiting. I would follow it up and I would find out that they haven't started on it yet because my order slip have been misplaced!

I hate that too...or when you order your burger or chicken sandwich a certain way and they don't do it right. There's no point in going back either b/c it costs more to drive back then to just chalk it up as a loss.

Didn't you see "Lethal Weapon"???
Joe Pesci goes into great detail about why you don't go to the drive-up - "...they always *F* you at the drive-up window! They know you'll be miles away before you find out they *F*ed you!!!"
Always go inside to the counter!!! (-;

yea we all been in situations like that and you may not be the richest person,so i can understand your concern or madness, but after a while you should gain understanding and know that mistakes happen from time to time because we all fall short. I had a situation when mickey d's gave me small fries when i order medium fries, so I checked my bag before i left and i made sure i got my order right, so they gave me medium fries without any problems. Now, you should know to check your bag before you leave.

this happened to us few days ago in a particular restaurant. i ha dinner with my sister and i chose a place that could really satisfy my hunger, my sister's order came first but mine took more than it should be and i was really really hungry. i got irritated a little because i kept on asking what happen to my order and waiters kept on saying "ok" and nothing came. what i did was i went to the counter and ask for it, that way it surely urge them to deliver it.

It's not very often that I frequent fast food places now, mainly because I don't like junk food, but more so because of the amount of times in the past that they have mucked up a simple order! They've left stuff out or given me something completely different, they are heavily pressured to serve and get their figures or daily quota of customers, but that shouldn't compromise customer service or getting basic orders right. You are right once you have got them home, the hassle and cost of having to go back to get what you really ordered it's not worth it, I bet they've got that figured too!

I completely understand where you are coming from because I have had many orders messed up by fast food places. I get aggravated because it doesn't matter if I live 5 minutes away or 30, it is awful when you get home to find that if not some, but maybe all of your order is messed up.
But at the same time, I have to defend them. I have worked in the restaurant business my whole life, whether it be an actual restaurant or fast food, I have worked it. But the last 4 years I was in management at Jack in the Box and Whataburger. I have messed up many times and forgot something or the food was wrong, and being that I was the one to hand out the food, it was my responsibility to make sure that the order was correct...sometimes I made mistakes. And I have had many customers throw their food at me and yell and call me names just because I forgot something and all I could do was apologize and offer either a refund or coupon or free meal depending on how bad the mess up was. I can not speak for ALL fast food places, but I know that I made the mistake and would try to do what I could to make it better. But you have to understand, many times when you come in during a rush of either lunch or dinner, there will be a mistake made...we are only human. Many people think they can do what we can, but have been proven wrong when they do wind up behind the counter. People seem to think that it is the easiest job out there, when in fact it is not. It's actually a very stressful job because you are not only dealing with all types of people, but you have to make sure that you are doing your job correctly. Did you happen to think that maybe you had gotten a new person? When they are just starting, it is very nerve racking for them and they make A LOT of mistakes, it's worse for them when they get into the drive-thru because now they are under a time limit PLUS having to make sure they are doing it right. It really is not that easy of a job.

i hate it when they forget something. i always check my order before i leave the store. as they always miss something if not a number of things. i always end up going back to the counter to complain. the last one that really bugged me was i went to mcdonalds...i asked for a happy meal, which i share with my dog (she had the chicken nuggets) i asked for carrot sticks not chips...
...but they put chips in, but no carrot sticks. then the really comical bit was that they didnt EVEN PUT A TOY IN IT...thats the whole point of a happy meal for god sake!

Talking about KFC,thats where all my "forgotten" pieces of my order take place, hahahaha! They always seem to forget something and i always go back(most of the time)if my boyfriend is not with me.It doesnt seem to bother him, since he only misses a coleslaw or fork&napkin pkg.I miss either my gravy(i always order this)or chicken fries for my daughter.Always something missing there!!Good chicken though!!;)My order has to be correct since my boyfriend or i am the one paying,we pay for it so we should get exactly what we order right down to the forks and finger nappies, haha!

I am sure most people have had things missing or a wrong order and it is frustrating and you can't always look through it in the drive thru. I ordered my son a hamburger the other day with no pickles or onions - it came with nothing at all on it. Next time I'll just pick it off but I'm trying to save them money and not waste something we won't eat.

I've worked in fast food for many years so I have no pity when they mess up my order. I know what it takes to get the job done. here is a good story for you.
One night I went to Arby's and they messed up my order and I checked before I left so they had to fix it. The excuse was the person was new. O.K. I don't have aproblem with that but why was he alone.
So I get home thinking the order is fine and find out my daughter's sandwich is missing. Now I'm really mad. So I called them and they said come back and we'll replace the sandwich free.
When I got back there I told them I wanted to speak to the manager. I told him what happened. Now I was not very happy and he could tell. I wasn't the nicest person at that point.
He replaced the whole order for free and gave me back my money for the first order. O.K. so now I'm not so mad but the fact was I had caught it the first so I thought it would be good and it wasn't.
Oh, the girl that told me that she would replace the sandwich was livid that he had done that for me. Oh well. That's why we call it customer service.

I hate it when that happens because we live 15 miles from all fast food restaurants as it is one way.
I have noticed that alot of fast food restaurants are just that any more. they don't care about the food they serve, if the order is correct, if the people are clean or anything.
I would make sure next time you go there to tell them about the incorrect order.
Grrrrrr.

Well that happened to me more than once... and the last time it happened... i got fed up so i called the store manager to complain... not that i got the forgotten item but i certainly gave her a piece of my mind... so the next time i went to the fast food... i notice a difference on how they assemble the take out orders... the crew incharge would carefully check every detail of the order before giving it to the customer... so i guess my call actually worked...

i agree with you it is so annoying, when they can not get a simple order correct.they have their screens there with the correct order written in front of them.i always check the order now as i have been caught out too many times.i don't care what they think or how many people i hold up in the line.we pay good money for the food ,so we should get good service as well, and the correct order.cheers sue
