I Have Super Glue On My Skin And I Can't Get It Off!

OK, I feel like a downright klutz now. Don't ask how this happened, just trying to repair something. Normally, I'm much more careful with Super Glue. Long story short, it's on my left palm and thumb, my left nail on my forefinger and my right hand on one finger. I've tried nail polish remover and a washcloth, which seemed to help some, then washed in soapy water, then applied hand lotion. Still can't remove all of it. Any suggestions?

When you go in the shop... next to the super glue... there is a super glue remover... but the one I bought does not seem to be that great. As long as you don't have two fingers stuck together... you don't have much to worry about. I usually remove it slowly by scratching it off with my finger nails.

Thanks, you know, by today I had but last night when it happened, I was a little freaked out. Never heard of the Super Glue remover before, so thanks. Between the nail polish remover, hot soapy water and a nail brush, I managed to get most of it off.

The nail polish remover has to have acetone in it to make it work. Otherwise, you will basically just have to let it wear off. Or you can go buy plain acetone. A lot of the newer nail polish removers do not have acetone anymore because it is so drying. That is why it only partly worked.

I found a link that tells you how to remove superglue from your skin. It takes more than a few applications though. You have to immerse your hand in warm soapy water = well this is how to do it. http://www.supergluecorp.com/removingsuperglue.html I hope this helps. It does sound rather ghastly though.

Someone's mentioned both things I've thought of. But if you have any witch hazel you may try that.

Fingernail polish remover will take it right off or acetone if you have it.

They make a special remover for it. Don't feel bad though...I once superglued my hand to the shower door while trying to fix the towel rod on it. My ex had to go to the store and buy the remover otherwise I might still have been there. **AT PEACE WITHIN** ~~STAND STRONG IN YOUR BELIEFS~~
