We usually sleep at night. The average human sleep requirement is about 7.50 hours. There are two main type of sleep, one REM and other NREM. Rapid-eye-movement is called REM and non-rapid-eye-movement is called non-REM. Each of this eye movement recurs cyclically several times during a normal period of sleep. When our forebrain and midbrain is more active, due to depressed muscle tone, during our sleep period we suffer our rapid eye movement we see dreams. NREM sleep is divided in four stages, the last of which is “good night’s sleep”
