I do not have the IUD but i have heard that it gives you bad cramps and heavier bleeding during your period. I've also heard men complain that it pokes them, the little hanging string. I dont imagine that feels too nice when your trying to be intimate! I am pregnant right now, and having a c section, We are done having babies, hubby was done before i got pregnant, lol, so i am going to be getting my tubes tied or burned i'm not sure which one yet. I will have to talk to the OB/GYN.

My wife will not use it and we will use a rhythm method as our form of birth control and it is very effective to us. We use it for almost 8 years before my second child. And now we use it for almost 5 years.

I use the pill, the dreadful pill, but it helps regulate my cycles. I've heard of Mirena, what exactly is that? I never understood the commercial on it. It just looks like a plastic thing, but how does it work? I.U.D. I wanted to do that but my doctors prefer that I take the pill.

I don't remember being poked by it, but my wife did have cramps when she used an IUD. It's a foreign object that isn't meant to be in the bode. That's why the body tries to get rid of it sometimes. It is a pretty effective method of birth control though.
