I have Windows XP on my desktop computer, and I have Windows Vista on my laptop. I enjoy both operating systems. I haven't had any problems with Vista and all my programs work on the laptop as well. I dont do much online other then mylot, chat, play pogo and do a bit of surfing so maybe that is why I dont mind Vista.
What is it that you dont like about Vista?

Hi, Its probably that for some people after they have used xp for awhile they get used to it. So when vista came along they are lost till they get to see how it works. Looks complicated at first but you do come to find out that its not. Just looks it!

I also prefer XP over Vista. My desktop is XP and my laptop is Vista Home Premium. The only thing I really like about Vista is the graphics. Other than that, XP is much easier to understand. With Vista, they renamed everything and moved it to other areas. And, unlike previous versions, there is no video tutorial showing you how to get around Vista. I learn thru watching, not reading. When I bought my first computer several years ago, it was Windows ME. That had a video tutorial and really helped a great deal. Also, does anyone with Vista have an error message about low disk space?

i prefer freebsd if i get to choose any o/s.. but of the two choices you offer id say xp is better than vista.. it always takes microsoft a few years or more to work out kinks in their releases.. so maybe in 2010 vista will be better.. hah maybe :)

Think again! In 2010, Microsoft will be coming up with their next Operating System which will be different from the previous versions of Windows called Windows Vienna (Microsoft Windows 7). It will be more sufficient and a guarantee will not be a big disappointment like Vista.

I too prefer xp as it fulfils all of the requirements. Vista is more advance but I prefer the xp because I am used to work in window xp and I donst want to waste that all I learnt in prparation of window xp.

I just got Vista on a laptop and I love it. I don't understand all of the complaining. I like the window previews and all of the safeguards. There's an icon on the taskbar or desktop for all of my needs.

XP is better for older computers that can't handle Vista or handle it slowly. It also gives me a bit better performance on games and I'm used to the interface.

i think that windows XP is better, because Microsoft made windows vista with too much security which slows down the computer, also there still is less programs that can work windows vista but i think that as time comes windows vista will be better and it will have more programs and stuff for it.

There are good parts and bad parts about both, but i do prefer xp.
Vista isn't good for anyone who wants to play pc games on their pc, because alot of games don't support the format that vista uses.
Vista is better for things like using the internet and updated features that xp doesn't have.
Vista does use alot of pc memory because of the graphics and software it has installed on it.
xp is better for people who want to play games that were out upto 6 months after vista was released.
Its good for using bluetooth devices too, vista is very hard to use bluetooth devices for.
Vista needs access codes for nearly all software like bluetooth devices and connecting the internet to the pc, but when its done its good.

Nothing new and nothing surprising. It doesn't take big brains to figure out that Windows XP is still the best Operating System over Vista. It is more friendly, more sufficient and ease of use doing network setups through home and business.
And I can run Windows XP with systems that have older Pentium 2, 3, 4 with RAM ranging from 128 through 1GB with no problems - where on the other hand with Windows Vista you need at least 2GB of RAM or more if you want a stable computer. Many people aren't ready for faster machines or super high speed computers that will cost them hundreds or thousands of dollars. 512MB DDR2 or 1GB DDR2 on Vista is still sluggish - and don't expect much running low end processors (1.6Ghz to 1.8Ghz) to run good on Vista either.
Everywhere I go to do a repair or when I go different places throughout San Diego, the majority of people use XP over Vista. When I mention to them if they use Windows Vista they are like "What's that?" or "Are you kidding me?" You get the idea!

I know XP and have used it for many years now, it is stable and it suits my needs. I don't know vista, but, in a couple of years we will all be using it, I reckon'
