places that offer creative things to do with your children

We are always looking for places that offer classes for kids, especially those that are inexpensive. We go to Lowes kids clinics and Michaels and they are both great - especially Lowes and theirs are free and my kids get to use a hammer! Do you have anyplace you take your kids to do things? We are always looking for new places that offer clinics and such.

We go to our library. They have an afternoon fun time where they get to do a craft and hear stories. I have taken them to the Micheals craft but we moved and have no Michaels now:( We do have a Home Depot kid clinic here.

the library is always a good place to check. I just found something new today - a local bakery give kids a little cake and they can decorate it with all the things they provide and make as much mess as they want. Plus they get to eat it! I think this will be a fun one. Sounds like a smart move, they know while waiting for our little darlings we will all smell and see all the goodies and get something for ourselves too. This might even be a cute birthday thing to do - make your own cake.
