oh i know what you mean, when birthdays interact with special days we always get short changed, and that is bad..My husband has a birthday the 28th of December and he would always get 2 gifts from my Mom,but then my Mom passed so no more ebirthday gifts from anyone but me...

I have a fiance that for the last 2 years was not with me on Valentines Day. We won't get to celebrate Valentines Day until June or July. I will put a package together for him. As I did last year as well. I as well buy some stuff for the girls. I have 2 daughters so I always run out and grab them stuff like stuffed toys chocolates, a movie and usually an outfit. I buy my parents a card and chocolate for my dad as he is addicted. Mom don't really get chocolate. But I do buy her a little something something. As well I buy them a gift certificate to a restraunt so they can have a meal on my brother and me. I buy my brother who lives with us a game as well. I think its only fair. I also buy a little package for his gf.

That is a great idea, just make your fiance up a box of goodies and celebrate it later..I think you are a very thoughtful lady...You seem to have a wonderful thoughtful heart, and that is awesome...

It's not going to be so much about buying something this year for my wife, but it's about the day I have planned for her. I will be spending some money, but it's more about significance regarding our lives together and showing her how much she means to be by doing things that will show her my love for her. I plan on taking my wife to Hearst Castle and then having a nice dinner in San Luis Obispo, which is about 250 miles south of San Francisco. It's only a little over 2 hours away from here, so it's going to be a nice little day trip for us.

I have a partner this Valentine's just like the past three and a half years. I'm not sure what I want to do for them. I like the idea of Valentine's Day but she kind of wants to boycott it, which in my opinion sucks because it's tough to actually get to do nice things for eachother any other time of the year, so actually taking the time out to do something for eachother would be nice.

I but hello kitty valentine cards for my family and friends. However for the hubby this year, I might not be able to get him anything due to the fact that I lost my job a week ago. But I might make him something sweet like I did for Christmas. He seems to enjoy the handmade items better than store bought items. He cried when he read the scrapbook I made him for Christmas.

Oh i think those "hello Kitty" cards are sure cute..Oh i am sorry about you losing your job, but just saying "happy Valentines day" i love you is nice, another thing i have done to when i do not have money,i have made my own homemade card, have you considered that?Oh that is so sweet that your hubby cried, that means he is a sensitive man and you are lucky he is, most men are not..That is so sweet!

I do not buy for anyone on Valentines Day. My husband makes most of the money, and he has not bought me an valentine day gifts yet. I am expecting a box of dark chocolates in a heart shaped box with a ribbon on it, a bouquet or roses and dinner out. It will depend on what day Valentine day is on. We might all go out, that is us, and the rest of the family.

Well maybe he will, men sometimes don't do well on gift giving. My husband is the worlds worst for buying gifts..I had to go get my christmas gift, but he paid for it..It would be nice to be surprised sometimes though...

I only buy for my fiance and we really don't go all out or anything. I think it's unnecessary. We often buy each other little gifts all year round and I think that's way more romantic because I'm not expecting anything at the time. On Valentines Day, we're all expecting something so it sort of takes the magic out of gift giving from partners, I think. However, the fiance always gets something little like lollies or chocolates. I think this year I might go for something different. I honestly don't mind if he buys me chocolates and flowers-a woman can never have too much chocolate and flowers are always a pleasure to receive!

I always buy something special for my boyfriend kenny. last year i bought him a Bulova watch. i told him valetines day is a lucky day for us. last year, in massachusetts valentines day we got a huge nor-easter snow storm.. he ended up getting into a car accident while he was on the way to my work bringing me 2 dozen roses. as his truck hit the truck in front of him.. the roses on the front seat fell froward, and instead of making sure he didnt hurt himself, he made sure the roses didnt fall.. well as he held them back, 1 rose popped off from the stem and landed on the dashboard.. i told him it was a lucky rose cuz he didnt get hurt.. its kinda like our little thing... the rose still sits on his dashboard today.. its obvi dried out now.. but its still there :] hopefully this year he doesnt total his new truck :] so thats my story, lol
