I've been trying to eat right and have been going to the gym. This morning I had some peanutbutter on wheat bread. went to the gym--did weight training and cardio. was starving when i got back so ate some egg beaters on corn tortillas(2) with a piece of extra lean turkey bacon. I was still hungry, so about 2 hours later, maybe a little less, I had a banana and a cheese stick(mozarella cheese) and I'm STILL hungry. Like stomach growling hungry. I'm trying to eat small meals every 2-3 hours, but how is this gonna work if I just stay hungry. I thought the point of eating small frequent meals was to never be so hungry that you'll cave and eat bad. what do I do?

hunger is not only about how the body changes physiologically, it is about how our body and mind together are well fed, not just by the food that one can put in their mouth, but also by the whole environment around us.

After burning some calories working out, I think your body needs to replace whatever you have lost hence the hunger pangs. The best thing you can do is take alot of vegies and mostly make sure you take alot of fluid like water. when the stomach is full you wont be feeling hungry. so anytime you feel hungry make sure you take water instead of junk food. water is good for your health and it also cleans the body from impurities.

well it depends if you're trying to lose weight or gain weight.
if you're trying to gain weight you should be eating more quality foods, and because you are eating regularly and exercizing your metabolism is sped up. It will be harder for you to gain fat unless you eat lots of fatty foods. Bananas are good but dont eat a cheese stick....a meal is NOT a banana and a cheese stick, mate thats not even a snack. even for people trying to lose weight you're eating too small and your protein intake is not even meeting your body requirements.
you need to research nutrition properly or even see a nutritionist or a personal trainer your meals are all over the place and you dont have a balanced diet.

do you drink enough fluids..water...green tea will help some of the hunger pangs..but if does persist have your blood checked out for sugar..(diabetes) this is a symptom..insulin level gets out of whack..thus the craving for more food...check it out

Thanks. I don't drink as much fluids as I should. I have to force myself to drink. Interesting that you mentioned the blood checked for sugar. Several years ago, after i had some blood tests done, the doctor mentioned that my blood sugar was low but didn't say to much about it. Is that the same thing as what you are talking about?

Have you ever really tracked how many calories you are eating? You may be burning more in a day than you are putting into your body. You need to find out what your basic caloric intake should be to maintain your weight and if you are trying to lose subtract 500 calories per day from that total to lose 1 pound per week.
