Fingerpainting in poo?

Anyone had to deal with this from their baby/child? I just had my first experience with this this morning. My 8 year old son never acquired this nasty habit thank goodness. This morning my almost 1 year old had a nasty one while in her high chair. I was washing dishes, so I was facing away from her. All of the sudden I smell this awful smell. I turn around and there she is with poo all over her high chair, hands, face, and hair. YUCK! She was just wearing a diaper and had gone outside the diaper, so it was accessible. Please tell me that this is not something that will continue!

My hubby has a son from a previous relationship, and when he first started coming to our house she warned us to keep pants/jammies/shorts on him ALL the time. cause he rather liked to dig in his diaper and take it off and play in his poop. The first time it happened, i guess she wanted into his room and he had been playing quiet in his crib for some time, WE ALL KNOW something evil is happening if htey are quiet.... And he had taken his diaper off and smeared poop all over his self, his crib, the walls he could reach. EVERYWHERE. omg. i was prepared for this with my daughter, i never leave her with just a diaper on now that she knows how to take it off! Good luck to you!

Ah. You think that's bad? What's worse is when they play with ANOTHER baby's poo. I caught my son squeezing my nephew's poo through his fingers. It was everywhere. Consider yourself fortunate that you knew whose it was.

I am not a parent so I can't really tell you if it will continue or not. I suggest not making a big issue about it if she does it again, as she will learn that painting with poo will get her attention and attention is something that all toddlers want! My mother told me a story about how one day she could hear me cooing and giggling in my cot for ages after I had woken up and she was wondering why i wasn't crying to be picked up. When she walked in she found me creating a work of art on the wall next to my cot, with my own poo. I think that's hilarious!

OMG! EWWW so sorry! Lol The closest experience I had was while changing my daughter. I turned to get a wetwipe. And she had stuck her foot in it. And knocked the diaper to the floor. Nothing as bad as what you had to clean up,Sorry.

I have never had this experience myself. But I sincerely believe the child will eventually come to realize that poo smells nasty and is not something to be touched. Until then, just try to change her quickly. Sorry!

My daughter has yet to do it again. I am hoping that she does not think to do it again.

lol....not with my kids....but my mother had to experience it with me. As the story goes, she had just given me a bath and put me in the crib while she went to clean up. By the time she got back, I had poo all over my face, body and the crib! This was at a time when mom used cloth nappies during the day and a diaper only at night or when we went out. She sure had a lot of cleaning up to do that day. Though I follow the cloth nappy during the day method, I've fortunately not had such an incident and I guess I am lucky.

My son is 16 months old and has recently started to put his hands in his diaper area when I am changing him. A little while ago, I went to change him and he had a Very messy diaper. Both hands went right in it before I could stop him. In seconds he had it all over his hands, belly, legs and shirt. I don't have enough hands to keep both of his hands out, plus his feet up and wipe him at the same time, so I'm hoping he'll stop. I picked him up and put him right in the tub. I don't want to have to do this everyday. I really hope it passes.

When my daughter was about 7 months old I heard her in her room she had just woken up from her nap so I went to get her out of her crib I walked in to find her diaper off, the crib the wall the sheets and herself were covered in poo! It was really gross and iw was really gross to clean up! She did it again one more time. It is hard to tell a 7 month old that its naughty and try to get them to understand! Maybe your littl eone is almost one she will understand if you tell her that it was really naughty.

You're not alone. I have a 12 month old son and its seems like everytime I change him latley he either grabs and pull on his privates and tries to stick his hands in his poop. How do we make this stop. I have had several diaper changes that have turned into bathes as well. Thanks!

When my twin boys were about 11 months they woke from their afternoon nap (as they do and play in their room for while before letting me know they are awake and need attention)I could hear them playing quite happily and popped my head around the door.......what a shock i got and the stench!!!!!they had taken off each others nappy (both messed) and their was poo in the carpet, up the curtains, on the window, in their hair all ovr their faces and hands. i'll never forget the site and it took days to get the smell out of the room. They are 21 now, I reminded them about it the other day when the youngest twins 4 month old pooed all over him, he was horrified. They only did it the once...thank goodness .
