I recently heard of someone creating a gratitude book, and thought it was a great idea. Every night before going to sleep, you think of at least one thing to be grateful for and write it in your book. I think it would work wonders for our mental health, we get so much negativity those days, so many depressing stories in the news, it's surprising that people can sleep at all. We all have things to be thankful for, whether we realize it or not. Right now I'm grateful for all my friends on myot. Blessings.

With all due respect to those who prefer to not watch the news, whether late at night (so you sleep on the bad news), early in the morning (so you wake up to it) or anywhere in the middle, I personally do feel a need to stay informed and know what's going on. As I said, this is NOT a criticism for anyone who isn't a new junkie nut-case like me, it's just the way I am...lol. Anyway, knowing all the bad things that are going on sometimes helps me see I don't have it so bad after all! It sure helps give me more things to write into my Gratitude Book!

Hello dear Pose. You are right. If we could write down one thing to express our gratitude per day, we would be more positive toward our life and work without letting the least chance of being negative attitude affect us. Blessings to you as well.

That's really one cool idea to divert our negative thoughts to positive, atleast a good reason to end our day!;)
If we just take some rest, look at the view and listen to nature and it's gifts then I guess we'll realize how much has been given to us.
For me, I'm still grateful that we are healthy and haven't visited nor went to a hospital because of a disease or major health problem..

Hello Pose123, I am here as promised! You are absolutely right. Although we are surrounding by negativity, that shouldn't dictate who we are and shouldn't prevent us from being grateful for the things that makes us who we are. I have actually had my own gratitude book for quite some time. I find that it allows me to clear my thoughts and focus on the things that truly complete me. I have lived a positive life for as long as I could remember despite all the bad experiencing in that I have faced. I figured at a very young age that I would rather hold on to what is good than to what is bad. At the end of the day, we truly have to be thankful for being given one more day. Thank you again. Be blessed and always positive.

Oprah is big on this. I have often thought of starting a gratitude journal. I think it is good to focus on the postive and every day of my life I have so much to be grateful for. Thank you for reminding me!

I don’t think its a very bright idea. Things in my life for which I am grateful are fixed, they will not change and I don’t know about the future. I am grateful for three thing in life: #1 my upbringing and education (it gives me my bread & butter) #2 my husband (my one and only pillar in life) #3 my son (my only other source of pure, unconditional love and joy in life). Everything else can come and go and are dependent on these, but these are vital to my very survival. I am forever grateful to God for giving them to me and I take every opportunity to thank Him for the same. There are of course a thousand many other things for which I thank God (like I say Thank God often in relief over something) and I would not like to belittle his generosity by enlisting them.

That's a wonderful idea! I think we all could use something to make us think more positive these days. I don't think it will make us feel like we're living in a bed of roses or anything like that but it may help us stop thinking we're stuck in a picker-bush 24/7!

Now, that gives me several ideas for things to make for my etsy shop... inspiration has been hard to find the last couple of weeks. I won't do exactly that, but I can think of many other things that would be similar. Thanks for the kick in the creativity... I really needed it!
