Do You Have a Mentor?

There are tons of studies that say that successful people had a better chance of being successful, because they had a mentor. I never had a mentor, but I have had people who have occasionally gave me good advice. But as far as I know there was no charted course in my professional development. So the question is: "Did you have a mentor?"

I like to think of mentoring as not necessarily so formal. From what you described, you had mentors even though you never realized it. Thanks for your comments, I appreciate them.

Hi kdhartford,
My father is my mentor. He taught me how I have to be in life to be successful.He din't talk about money, but he talked about how I can sleep peacefully. He had 6 children including me and he brought up all of us in a manner in which we understood what the life is, how challenging it is and how to take up responsiblities. He was so sincere in his job and that brought to him a self satisfaction, which he used to tell us how important for one to be successfull. I have just carried whatever he taught me and now I am proud to say that I am very successful in my life and my father was behind my success, hence he is my mentor.
Thank you for posting such a nice discussion which gave me chance to write about my father and made me remember him again.

Thank you for sharing your story. Your father sounds like a heck of a guy. I'm glad that you had a chance to remember him and share your story. I hope that I inspire my childen in a similar way. Thanks again for commenting.

unluckly i never had a mentor in no field before and never had either people giving me good advice!so if i'm doing something must do it just by myself!!

That is too bad. But the internet is great as a place to search out answers. When I first started, there was no internet so the only way to get information was to find someone who knew how to do it and get them to tell them the secret. You should find someone you admire and study them. Thanks for commenting.
