Does anyone know about GERD?

GERD is Gastrointestinal Esophageal Reflux Disease. It is when a certain gas from your stomach goes back, up to your esophagus. I started to experience this last september of last year and i really loothe it. What's so awful with it is the pain on your throat because of the gas reflux. Your throat gets inflamed and then you will seem to have tonsilitis. I've been in the situation for almost a month that time. It got me disturbed and uncomfortable if not sleepless nights. And oohh... i really hoped not to be on that same situation again...but.. unfortunately, i'm having it again... Does anyone know the remedy for this? i've been taking omepron capsule just like before but it's not working yet as of this time. I'm really diasppointed with this. It's making me really upset. Can anyone help me with this? Thanks in advance...

I know all about GERD, because i have it really bad and have had it for years..It is caused by a weak "splinter" a splinter is a muscle that when you eat it opens so your food will go down into your stomach,when you have a weak "splinter" it fails to close off entirely after you food goes down, so some of your food will back up into your throat..You need to take an acid reducer..I take "Nexium" from my doctor and now i do not have it any longer but if i miss my pill it will come back..They have Prilosec OTC and you can get it at the store,get some of that and take a pill each day..It will help get rid of the acid...You can take 2 a day if one does not work well..That will stop it , and your life will be so much better..
