I got into a cab the other day and there was a small purse on the floor.I put it in my bag and when i got home i opened it and there was the 50 dollars and her drivers license and credit cards.I went to the post office the next day and sent it fed ex overnight. Two weeks go by and i get a letter from her thanking me.Turned out the lady owned a restaurant and she let me come there and have dinner for free she also gave me 2 sky box tickets to the NJ Devils game that following week.It does pay to be honest.

absolutely, you can be certain that I would. my conscience would never let me do otherwise. If her name was not in the wallet I would have called the cab company and ask if anyone reported losing one. sounds like she was a decent lady to reward you for your honesty.

wow I must congratulate you for being so honest. It's hard to find people like you nowadays. I remember when I was about ten, me and my sister went to the store and the lady in front of us dropped a twenty dollar bill and my sister was saying that its hers now and she didn't give it back and I told her too and she never did. I make it a rule to give things back to others if found or stolen. I believe in karma like crazy.

You certainly did the honest thing by returning the purse. There were identification cards in the purse besides the money, so the owner is known. If you had kept the purse knowing that it belongs to someone who is traceable, it is tantamount to you pinching someone's belonging and that can be considered stealing. Even if there wasn't any identification, you could have surrendered it to the cab company, or if you couldn't identify the cab company, you could also bring it to the police station. But I'm glad you were honest. I would have done the same thing if I were you. I'd think of it this way: if I were the one who dropped my wallet in a cab and I had important documents in it, I would definitely wish some honest person would pick it up and return it to me. Well, you certainly deserve the reward for your honesty.

Congratulation to you. For me I will return to the owner. I ever found this litte bag with a wallet containing $ 5, a bill with address on it and keys in a supermaket, so I took a cab to this address and return to the owner. She was so glad that she wanted to give me a $100 but I rejected because I'm not retuning it to her for reward. I just feel that I should return it to her personally because there are keys and a bill with address on it, it will be dangerous it someone with ill intention took it or if I leave it with the information counter I won't feel safe it. I just don't want myself to worry about it too much so the best is I sent it to the owner personally.

If I found the purse i should return it because:-
1)In life the main thing is the trust,if people will not trust you then you will never get success because then nobody likes you and not preferred you any job when you need or any kind of help.Because then you are not the person to be trustworthy.
2)But if you get 50 dollars then you know the person will not find me because he/she dont knows who takes it but your ability is from your mind when you think not to go to wrong line then you return it but if not you will again do this because it is the simple way to get money then you will be punished.

That is awesome that you were honest and got rewarded for it. I have come across a few peoples wallets in my life, and i have always tried to return the wallet to the person. If i really need the money then i will keep it and drop the wallet in the mailbox, I believe the postman will send it to the person. I just think that money can be replaced, but all the stuff in a wallet is hard to replace, and costly and time consuming.

Congratulations for being honest. I am thankful that we still have people in this world who wanted to be honest. Well, 50 dollars is not that much. But I think what you did is very good and morally correct.
I think she is also happy with your honesty so she treated you with that good work.

This is great! I will definitely return the purse! I've lost my purse before and it's just so annoying cancelling all the cards etc!

When I was a student in a primary school, My teacher told us to return purse to the loser and always gave us a commendatory letter when we followed this role. That made us be honest. And till now, I appreciate and agree with this behavior.

OK, first of all you are a good person, and you don't need someone else's $50.
My question is what happens when you stop on accident- no planning involved, and you find a bag full of US benjamins worth $500,000. What do you do then?
I think I would have to see what happens at exactly the time and where I am at the time. Seeing as banks are insured. Although money is marked and you might just feel like a criminal and all the stuff that might have come from your "finding a fate cash bag" would be negative energy and bring you not a happy place.
I would like see what people HONESTLY would do if they pulled off the highway to do what ever, looked over and saw a bag marked whatever bank.
I would actually probably, give A LOT to my fav charity and then call the authorities to tell them what I found... (that is my nice side) (My other side would somehow try to make it (the $200,000 that I did not "give back" available to the people work so hard and still cannot give their family the basics like food and shelter).
I would love some feedback.
Cheers to all the cosmic miracles that we are and that we make.
:)
