To be a teacher is very difficult nowadays, especially that our technology becomes more advance. Teacher should be aware and know all the basic needed in teaching. Just like when the internet starts, many teachers were ask to submit proficiency in using computers. Old teacher were downed by other students because the students seemed to be more knowledgeable than the teacher, with the advent of technology.

yes .i trully agree with you.in today's society, there're a lot of tools to help us learn better.various resauces can be searched through the Internet, arcoss the radio and tv programmes.on the other hand ,it's true that a teacher is only specialized in one field, though a wide horizon can improve his teaching quality.it's common that a student acts better than the teacher in some aspects.

Generally my problem with technology in the classroom is that it depersonalizes the learning experience and disconnects the teachers from the students. In certain scenarios technology is useful so long as it enhances the learning experience and doesn't take away from the essential personal contact between teacher and student as they seek greater understanding in the subject. Unfortunately I think a lot of teachers rely on technology to do the job for them - Power Point, Videos, Computer Programs, etc. There's nothing like a living, breathing human being who leads the class.

Teachers in the USA(and this is only my opinion) have never really been valued. And most of the time woefully underpaid. I agree that students may know more about certain topics thanks to technology. And perhaps should even be tested on current knowledge. But putting a teacher down, not a good idea. Teachers are required to keep their certificate current through a certain amount of classes. Districts should offer courses as well. Being a teacher is often thankless. It has always been difficult. Now, maybe more so.

It's hard for those teachers that cannot keep up with the newest technology. If the teacher is open to the students teaching them then they will mske it easier on themselves and the students. Teachers need to be open to this in order to keep up with the times.
