How do I open a Dmat account in India for Share trading?

I wanna try shares this year and wanna open a demat account. What is the best option and what is needed to start it. Which has the cheapest options. Just wanna try to get some info before I plunge in.

if u find any difficulty to open a demat account,u can take the help of any private share broking services.they hardly charge around Rs.500/-.they will provide u demat account and trading account.for trading totally u require 1.bank account 2.trading account 3.demat account 4.PAN card 5.ID proof 6.adress proof some banks also assit u. HDFC BANK,ICICI BANK,CANARA BANK,AXIS BANK etc. privte share brokers-ANGEL SHARE BROKING,KARVY share brokers etc.
