Yea i'm with you on this one, i dont see the point, I have been told its like an online diary, but really, why would strangers wanna read my personal thoughts, and why would i want them to either?! lol. It just doesn't make much sense to me, but i guess it d oesn't have to,. To each his own!

it doesn't have to be a diary, I write about paganism for instance, though many successful blogs are just diaries.

The point is it's a really easy way to self publish, you can just write about your thoughts or write about a subject you are interested in and publish what you write within seconds.
To start blogging you need to get yourself a blog, I recommend Blogger.

to keep people interested you need to be writing a decent length post at least once a week, they aren't like web sites where you write them then they stay like that, you are supposed to keep updating them.

it depends on the person I guess. I blog because I have a lot of interests and I want to write what I found online about them and share it with others who have same interests.
It's not a personal diary to me, but I do treat them like journals. I maintain 3 different blogs and one website. They are all for different purpose and I link them with similar blogs and sites. I believe knowledge is power, and sharing it will empower others too. I constantly keep searching online within my interests. I don't always have time to write it down but when I do I will update my blogs.

Hmm!That's the question so many people ask these days especially as Blogging is gaining more and more popularity. Well, personally I think blogging means different thing to different people, therefore, blogging can be defined in so many different ways; an online dairy, a mini-website, an avenue to sell yourself, a means to share your thoughts and opinion, a tool to make money, a medium to network with friends, family and business associates. All of these and even more are correct.
Blogging gives you an easy to update free online presence, but what you do with it is totally left to you. Above all, blogging is one of the best thing that happens to the internet.
I see a future where employers will no more ask for an application/resume but your blog address, where contracts does not require your proposal but your blog address. Just think about it.

To me, blogging is just writing. What happened today, what do you want to happen tomorrow. It's just like keeping a diary or journal. I usually end up blogging to get issues off my chest, to just whine about how oh, so tragic my life is (Sarcasm intended) or explode glee all over the internet when something good happens to me. Or sometimes just because it's 3am and I'm bored.
There are a crapton of site that can be used for blogging. Livejournal, xanga, myspace and so on. Those are just the three I've used before, but I know that there are a ton more.

Blogging is web log journaling, much like diary-writing when young girls had all their secrets (well most of them) written on tiny lined pages of fancy little books kept locked at their bedside; only this time places require a sign in, password and can be viewed by hundreds.
So what is the point of blogging you ask, well communicating under gyidelines or rambling at whim or selling your expertise or featuring your clothing line or showing your latest home-schooled highlight ! whatever you want to use a blog-site for it is up to you and of course the blogging hosters that allow public or private-accessed blog sites.
I blog here for a number of reasons, check it out and let me know what you think ?

Blogging is a platform to engage your readers, so that they might find your content interesting, and perhaps come back for more. For me, I like to share my knowledge for one of my blogs - but I have to optimize content and my template to try to attract readers. Computer Tech Links and Internet Online Cash (blog optimization) are two of my blogs in my mylot profile...
