Well well, nothing better than a melodic metal, like After Forever, Lacrimosa or maybe, Sonata Arctica, but I agree that listening to rock (like they say, "Rock rock's!") makes feeling better...

I listen to ballad or any sad song - songs that would make me cry more. Crying will ease the pain. Crying makes the feeling a little lighter afterwards. After that I listen to rock music. I really love rock music and makes me sing with it. This way I forget whatever sadness or problem I have.

I think that the best kind of music for sad people are upbeat songs like RnB or disco or songs that make you sway your hips or snap your fingers. If you listen to mellow and sentimental ones I guess it would just make you more sad.

I listen to sad songs at first to make me cry - to ease the pain - crying makes yoiur feelings a little lighter afterwards. THen I listen to rock music. I really love rock music.
