Do you think it's right for people to get rid of animals on free sites online?

I see so many people online giving away their animals for free to anyone who will take them.
I don't think these people really know if these pets are really going to a great home or not.
some people say that there are a lot of people looking for these free pets for testing and a bunch of horrible other stuff..
do u think its ok for pets to be posted for free or should that not be allowed?

I don't find that many free animals online most people are asking for huge amounts of money for them. If someone is giving them away for free I would think they don't care about the poor animal as what happened to me a woman sold me....yes SOLD me a puppy and it ended up she had stolen it from a breeder. That's the type of thing we have to be careful of as buyers of these pets.

My husband is deathly allergic to cat and dog dander, and yet we have both.

My sister's youngest is allergic to dog dander. They have a dog and a cat.
MEDICATION.
Allergies are no reason to give up pets. Especially child allergies. Medication is available.

Personally I wouldn't give away a pet this way, but if that's what the owner wishes to do that's their choice. Just because they're giving it away on a free site doesn't mean they're not screening the people who respond & choosing the best home from them.

I have never seen any sites online where people do this but if there is then I think it is a terrible way to give away a pet. Better to contact the Humane Society or one of the other known organizations.

I think that more ppl need to take resposibility for owning a pet and get them fixed. Finding good homes for pets is hard and they usually end up at the local dog pound where their put to sleep. I wouldn't ever post pets on a free site...there's too many nuts out there that are into animal cruelty.

absolutely not. it should be illegal, half of these animals are going to breeding facilites. whwre they are treated terribly, and abused constantly. i say, if you no longer have interest in keeping your pet, give the animal to a humane society.. so at least then, you KNOW the animal will be going to a good home. where it could be put up for adoption. it's not that hard to find a humane society near where you live, so I truely do not see how people can be putting their pets/animals away online for free.

no I do not believe that a person should not get their pets away on line unless they know the person that they are going to with a background check
