I love thunderstorms. The rain, the thunder, the lightening, the way it looks and crack of the lightening and the noise of the thunder. I really do love thunder storms. I love to be outside, under the eaves and watch it all happen, but there are occasions when it is too much and too loud and too close and it scares me so I have to come inside where it is nice and safe and dry and warm. But that even makes it better, that there is a safe, warm, dry place to weather the storm. Last year, though I had my first experience with thunderstorm, or whatever they call it. It was December and it was raining and there was thunder and lightening! I had never seen that. It kind of freaked me out a little, it was so "nothing I'd ever seen before."Any anyone here with such experience???

Yes, I love them - the power of nature is awesome! We don't get really wild thunderstorms here, but sometimes you can still get a fairly good sense of the power involved. The brightness of the lightening, the almost deafening roar of the thunder and the heavy rain. Just great! As long as no one gets hurt, of course.

I don't remember every time that I have spent on a beach but one time on a beach near Surfer's Paradise in Australia is particularly memorable. I saw the most amazing thunder and lightening storm there. Oh my! It took my breath away and it was really exciting to watch the bright flashes in the sky and hear the loud thunder. It was like the most amazing sound and light concert. We got so soaking wet. Yes, it can be scary when you are outside in a thunder storm. Being inside is safe and dry but far less exciting.

Yes, I particularly like to be out in the woods when there is a storm, drenched but feeling more alive, to have life and have it in abundance, though I remember the old adage; Beware the oak It draws the stroke Beware the ash It courts the flash This is wise cause though these particular trees are perhaps no more likely to be hit, some tress can explode if hit by lightning I have also been at sea in a thunder and lightning storm and the feeling is very different, there is something uncanny about lightning at sea. Once we were out east of Ramsgate and as the storm closed in we made a run for port. We awoke next morning to many boats that were de-masted and the coastguard vessels going out on rescue missions. all the best urban

the most scary experience i have regarding lightnings and thunders was during a storm. first was the lightning incident. there was a storm and i was coming home from school and like i used to, i walked home by the lake. when i was about to turn left towards our house, it was at that time when i saw a lightning pierced the sky just above the mountain top there was a small mountain near the lake). it was my first time to see something like that so it was very memorable even if it was scary. it was scary because i was using an umbrella with a metal pointed edge on top. and i had the idea then that shiny metal attracts lightnings. ^__^;; regarding thunders, it was also during a storm that i heard a thunder that sounded so near, it sounded like a bomb exploded near our house. ^__^;; it was more than the sound St. Peter makes when he is playing bowling. (when there's a thunder there's a saying here that St. Peter is playing bowling. ^__^;;) so i don't really like watching lightnings and hearing thunders. i just don't like storms and thunderstorms and the likes. i don't even like rains. ^__^;;

Yes, I enjoy watching a thunderstorm...when it is on TV! :P LOL Other than that I don't like thunderstorms. I get scared by the thunder and lightning. The closer it is the more nervous I get. But at the same time it fascinates me. Though I would rather be indoors with the curtains closed. :P

I agree with you! i love watching lightning/thunderstorm! it is beautiful but also it is dangerous if you are out of the house! so i prefer to watch them when i am inside the house where it is safe as you say especially if the thunderstorms are very loud and strong!!

i actually dislike lightening very much, as i know of a few people who have been struck.. it really happens more than we hear about. it can be deadly, and can also disable you for the rest of your life. so, i guess my answer is nope dont like storms!

Love it, love it, love it. Actually I kind of miss having a lot of thunderstorms, because I moved from a place where they happened often to a place where they were fairly rare. *sighs* I have a lot of happy memories involving watching thunderstorms with loved ones. Something about the lightning makes me think of love, actually, the excitement and energy of it. :) I've never been in a situation where I felt it was too close or too loud, and I've never felt the need to get somewhere dry and warm to watch. I'll stand right outside if no one stops me, and never mind the danger. I'm told it's because I'm one of those geniuses with no common sense.

Yeah... I really love to hear the thudering sounds but not watching the lightning as we were prevented from seeing that by our family members. It is customary that they say if we see the lightning we would lose our eyes. I am not sure if that is true but have heard of real stories. The thundering sounds would follow the lightning. So whenever lightning occurs, all others would get ready to close their ears but I would love to hear the blasting sounds...

I don't think there anything better then to sit in my porch on a hot summer day and listen to the rain and the thunder off far away and smell the rain we have a swing and I could sit there for hours and just listen I also love to watch the lighting also. now when it gets close I will come inside but for the most part I just love to be out side.

I like thunderstorm and lightening too. If I know I'm safe and it won't set my house on fire or I won't get ligtening struck, it is a nice show to watch.

I love Thunderstorms. Especially the kind where it gets really dark, but not raining yet. I have always wanted to chase storms. People think I weird wanting to do that, but it seems like that would be so much fun, adventurous. I sit outside when storming to watch the lightening. Love Em!

I once pitched a tent on the prairies and as I finished a thunderstorm hit. It was powerful. I got in my tent and, with the heavy wind, the storm felt like a freight train passing inches from my tent. Although it would seem like a situation I would rather not be in, I remember getting this feeling of curiosity. I peeked out the tent and watched as that storm hit. When it passed I actually missed the exhilaration of being right in the middle of it and witnessing it. I often think back to it.
