This happend in Centerville Missouri. A man walked into a school and grabbed a child. Took her outside. A neighbor across from the school noticed something wrong and called for help. How safe do you think our kids are? And what do you think we can do to make them safer. my child watches the Safe Side dvd with John Walsh.

I wish the school where my daughter goes had better security. Well, some security, anyway. I can walk right in and get my daughter. The only defense I have is teaching her not to go anywhere with anyone that seems unusual. Even her teacher can't take her somewhere in her car without me branding this weird. I've told her as much.

Even with all the security measures that school's and day cares put into effect that does not guaruntee that children will be safe simply because the one second you let your guard down, something can happen and change that. People will always find a way to get around whatever measures that are in place to protect children, and even adults. By talking to children about the dangers of society and what to do in case something happens is the first line of defense. Schools and other places also need to be aware of where children are and really need to implement a locked door policy. For instance, a day care I worked at had to check you out before you were let inside the building. That's how schools need to be.

where were the school officials? where was the teacher of this child?? thank god for the neighbor who saw this happening .. it makes me sad to remeber my child hood we had to be in the yard whne the street lights came on.. our parents didnt have to worry about where we were when we were out playing because the perverts kept themselves hidden.. whet ever happened to those time.. my children are 18 an 20 and they still have to tell me where they are going and who they are with... its horrible that our children arent safe anymore cause you never know who the bad guy is.. definate plus for this discussion

Hello dear ermommy. It is so sad to hear that this little girl was rudely taken out of the school without the protection of the teachers or leaders or gatekeeper of the school. I am wondering how come someone could get in to take a student out of school like that. You can not feel safe to stay and study in such a school where no sense of safety is concerned. Well, I think that my kid is safe at school as they have not only gatekeepers, but also school supervisors on campus to make sure that they are safe at school.
