I got to level 13 yesterday.
So far that means I can sommon spiritwolves, dreadfowl & the spider ones ( whatever their called ).
The wolves weren't impressive , but then their level 1. They did at least try to help in combat.
The dreadfowl were slightly amusing. They can give you a magic attack & boost your farming.
The spiders didn't seem to be effective in a fight but they can lay red spiders eggs for you to use in herblore.
My puppy's 75% grown. Once he's full size I'm going after the gecko.
Have you learned anything interesting about summoning critters on Runescape? what do you feel about the skill so far?

Summoning, it's just stupid and it cost too much. Also, it takes forever to get the shards.

I've gotten mine to 25 already. It's not too bad. You just have to learn how to milk the points out of it. Summon a familar & keep recharging it. You get points from each timer recharge without making a pouch. It's taken some experimentation to figure how to use the skill profitably.
Also if you mole hunt, If your familar is fighting & the mole digs away the familar will chase it letting you know which way the mole went.

summoning is to slow and boring to train i think it's a bit like runecrafting.
