To Text or Not to Text

Ok, here's the story. I was in a long distance relationship for 2months, not very long I know but he treated me like a complete star, always making plans for when we could next meet up, calling me, sending me text messages with kisses before I went to sleep every night & we saw eachother every weekend!
Then he came to see me for the weekend & went back home xmas eve. Now I'm not sure exactly what happened, he was ill over xmas so I let him rest instead of calling or anything. Then I'm messaging him as usual but only getting very blunt messages back. So I figured, give him a few days he'll call when he wants to talk.
3weeks later & nothing, so I called... no reply... so I text saying I got the hint but that I deserved an explanation... " I didn't want it to be like this, we can still be friends, we don't get to see eachother enough" etc etc.
Pretty lame in my books but this isn't really the problem... it's his birthday... do I send him a happy birthday message or not. I know it's something really silly, but I really did enjoy him being in my life & I kinda want it to be an olive branch. Or will it just look like I'm stalking him!

I think he is somehow avoiding you at this point.May be he is not willing to continue this realtionship of love. I know guys are mostly fickle minded. At a point he tells you he loves you so much, later he just ignores you. do find out what is the problem.Is he seeing somebody else? Or there was some mistake from your part?
If no, then just you can send him b'day message but do not do so much. no gifts and nothing. then keep mum. See how he reacts or talks or not. If still avoids, you should move on my dear.

o thats sad,he could have atleast said something to you.
I would send him a text saying happy birthday to end on good terms,maybe he'll be nice and reply.Is it possible his phone broken?
