Remember that story about the princess that slept on many mattresses and there was a pea between the two bottom ones and she was so sensitive that she could feel it? Well I am not a princess....but I have new jammies that are just a smidge too big....I wore them last night and could not get to sleep as the waist kept twisting and there would be a little knot on the side where I lay. Well finally I pulled them way up and kinda rolled the waist band down so it wouldn't bunch up. Do you have something like that which keeps you from falling asleep? Crinkled sheets? Pillows have to be just right?

I had trouble sleeping last night because I wore a pair of older sweatpants with the elastic at the ankle to bed last night. I was so cold and thought they would keep me warm. They kept riding up my legs and waking me. About drove me nuts. Then I decided to wear a long sleeved top with it that was a little too tight. Again thinking I'd be real warm....NOT. Nothing seemed to help so tonight I have looser pajamas on that are soft. Will see if that makes the difference. Also have wool socks on my feet as it's awfully cold out tonight and I can't seem to warm up. Not unusual.

What part of the US are you in ? I am in Ohio and it is not too bad right now, the snow is melting and we were in the high 40/s today.
I just can't seem to get cool enough to sleep, if I wear socks on my feet but if I am cold the flannel sheets do the trick !

Since I love to sleep I try to do get comfy quickly because I know it takes so long for me to get to sleep. The shorter loose-fitting cotton jammie bottoms and a cotton top work best for me but if the flannel sheets are in the dirty laundry, I will wear flannel jammies to sleep in, cept in the summer when it is au naturale !

I had that problem sometimes and find I get up in the middle of the night and change into my shorts instead of pants. It's weird how sometimes the littlest thing can bother you. I do take about 10 minutes to arrange and get comfy but usually if I'm tired I'll fall right asleep. Other nights though, it seems like everything bugs me! Who knows, maybe I am a princess :-D

I don't have problems falling to sleep because I Must have 100% cotton sheets and I sleep in a man's white 100% cotton t-shirt.If it isn't cotton, I don't wear it or sleep on it.

I can not stand long things to sleep in, has to be short and if I am tossing and turning and my sleep wear gets twisted it drives me up the wall. I do not like crinkled sheets either. I do love soft sheets and ones that stay cool during the night, don't give me flannel sheets.

Oh, I am such a "princess" this way. My husband will tell you so. I don't like pjs that I get twisted up in or that are too loose or not soft or silky enough. My sheets can't be wrinkled and must be a high thread count, the pillow has to be just so, even my covers have to be a certain way. In some other discussion I said I was picky and I really was telling the truth.

Many many things to say the least. I am very sensitive to anything bundling up somewhere and I just cant stop fidgeting. Have been like this since childhood. A knot in the socks inside school shoes, a twist in the bra-strap, a fold in the skirt when I am sitting, a fold in my night-dress…man sometimes I wish I could just roam naked! And the most embarrassing part is that more often than not, it happens in public and there is nothing I can do except squirm and turn uneasily.

I am a nightgown wearer and I have tried a couple of times to wear pajamas and I can not get to sleep wearing them. I don't know what it is about p.j.'s but I toss and turn and just can not get comfortable. Before I know it I got up to put my nightgown on and soon as I climbed back in bed I fell right off to sleep.

Even I hate pajamas. My mom tried to get me into the habit of wearing them for night but I just could not. Everytime I pulled the sheet up, the pajamas would come along too, upto my calf or even the knees and everytime I would get up and pull them down. Mom saw this circus going on for a few days and that was the end of the pajamas for me (for life).

yes,
my pillow does have to be just right - it has to be MY pillow too - which is very flimsy, I scrunch it up so that it fits at my neck - and I like to have no socks on my feet and my feet outside the covers so they can stretch - I also like to have a pillow between my knees if I am in bed - but I usually always sleep on the couch, sitting up now.

I am so lucky. I could sleep on top of a big stone in my bed. The minute I roll over on my side, tuck my pillow in between my arms....I am gone. I don't wake up until my alarm goes off...I could sleep anyplace...as long as I have my pillow. I sleep through bad thunderstorms and with my TV on all night long and don't hear a thing. I have a weather radio that buzzes like an alarm in case there is a dangerous weather alert. I am lucky, I guess. When I sleep in a motel room, I must have two pillows...that is the only thing that I can think of that would keep me from falling asleep instantly. I

You're not alone. I'm that same princess. But I can't sleep in anything! It's a good thing I don't have kids.lol
And for me, everything has to be soft, from my pillow to my mattress. My hubby bought us a memory foam mattress this past summer and it's heaven! I highly recommend getting one of these. I also have fibromyalgia, and a soft surface is essential. Bless my hubby's heart!
