I have done several pieces of mosaic artwork recently and really enjoyed the results of my 'fly on the wall'. Do you think it would sell if I put it on ebay? It is 10in x 10in. Can be hung or displayed on included plaque stand. If so, I could make the background wall in tri-colored reds, blues, or greens. I was considering charging $50.00. Please critique my artwork and give feedback.

Your avatar looks like a fly on a lovely background. It's pretty and catchy -- in tune with "I wish I had been a fly on the wall" when wanting to know what's going on.
To answer your question of the $50 charge, I have to ask a question. How much does it cost you to make it? Charge 2 to 3 x the cost plus any expense associated with selling it online.
I guess the bottom line is how much appeal it has to an individual.

For that particular piece, it did not cost a thing for the stained glass and I already had the wood and grout. Each individual piece was hand nipped (not cut). I have since then acquired a good glass cutter, so I could make other ones faster and better quality. I gave it to my younger brother for Christmas. It was so much fun to make and not really that hard but it did take patience. It was a piece I wanted to keep for myself but would rather have one with the wall in reds. Last night when I was trying to upload the pic, the dog came running in and bumped my arm. Next thing I knew the post had gone through without the pic. This then caused me to have to change my avatar because there was no picture of the very thing I was bringing up in discussion. I could not edit my post or add the picture. If I were to get positive feedback on whether it would be a seller or if people even like it, then the cost factors are different due to then having to go out and buy new and different tesserae. That is how I came up with a $50 or $60 price tag.

As a fellow crafter, I know making that piece takes time. I've looked at your new picture and see the detail.
I think as for feedback on price, check out mosaic wall hangings on other web sites. See what they are going for.
Good luck and best wishes.

Before listing it on Ebay, you should take a look at ETSY.com and see what artists are selling their creations for on that site (you won't be able to see "sold for" prices) and you'll get an idea what it might sell for.
Personally, I would sell it on ETSY,it is a wonderful piece of art and I think you'll find buyers willing to pay your price there, rather than place it at auction on Ebay.
Etsy fees are .20 to list and your listing lasts 4 months (plus they have a forum where you can promote the piece as often as you wish) Etsy charges a 3.5% final value fee.
It's a wonderful piece and I think it would do well and you could, if you choose to, get custom orders from buyers on that site. If you choose to, take a look, I could see it selling for more than $50 on Etsy.
Fantastic piece!!!

I did find a couple of window mosaic type pieces on ETSY. I'm not sure of the size of your creation, but the ones selling on Etsy that I happen to come across, were all selling in excess of $100 + shipping.
From what I saw of your creation, it is more than worthy of an ETSY listing!
Whatever route you choose, it is a wonderful piece...thanks for sharing with us!

I have looked into the proper picture in your response and I think your Fly on the Wall is beautiful. However, I feel that a $50 price might be a little high for E-Bay, if you're meaning E-Bay auctions. Perhaps it would be better to offer a few designs from an E-Bay Shop, or perhaps you could even get an online Craft Shop to sell it through their site. Ten x ten inches is quite big, so it might be easier to sell than I'm thinking. Why not just try one initially, and see how it goes on E-Bay, then if you're successful, do more?
Good luck anyway. You're very talented... I really think that's beautiful. It's just that with carriage charges and everything, it might just come out a little bit too expensive for most E-Bayers. Worth a test run though. Brightest Blessings.
