Why does Team U.S.A keep getting blowned out?

We got our butt handed over when we played Puerto Rico in the last Olympics. I don't understand how a foreign country can beat the United States in their own sport!

It means only one thing. That other countries have catched up in all areas of basketball. Another reason might be the lack of enthusiasm many American players have in representing their country. they might get injured and may not play during the nba season. I observed that many US players who are good doesn't like to play for their country. Gone are the days of His Airness, Michael Jordan where they sowed fear from their competitors winning at least with a 50-point margin!

Rules can be a factor in a team's performance... The Olympics uses a different set of rules... there is no defensive 3-second violation, which results in defense teams comfortably putting zone defenses, jump ball relying into the possession indicators, 3 point distances, etc.

Yea. i definitely think its a wake up call for team USA... They definitely get overconfident... hopefully they will pull together and win
