My son's father stopped paying child support AGAIN back in August(quit a job again). I did not get a dime from him until last month I got a check for a whopping $17.41. I have not gotten anything in the past month. I called Child Support Enforcement to find out what was going on. They took money out of his check ONCE before he quit his job. AGAIN!!!! They just got a withholding order the other day for his new job. Now I have to wait 6-8 weeks before I get the first check from this job. He does this crap all the time. He will pay for 6 months and then not pay for 6 months. He owes me almost $5,000 in back support and it is getting REALLY old! Anyone else have to deal with a deadbeat like this? He does not make a whole lot of money, but his wife makes twice as much as he does. He cries broke all the time because they both have $300 a month car payments. Boo-hoo! I have been driving the same car for the last 10 years. No sympathy from me.

I feel your pain. My son's biological father does not pay a penny in child support. I found out that he is now in jail for raping a 14 year old girl.
It is disgusting! He owes thousands in back support but I am sure I will never collect, and now my tax dollars are going to keep him locked up.
I think the Federal Government should allow people not receiving child support some sort of tax break...anyone else out there agree?

That sucks. The good thing is that you don't have to pay a lawyer to file the with holding paper work. not sure how it works in your state, but when you use the state to collect here, they can take up to 50% of the person pay + they can give you an increase in support if they see fit. I hope that once you get this order, they will take enough money to keep him at least current.

I think you are right. You are very frusttated for valid reason. I have no experience luike this. I think as you are brioken up, he is also trying to avoid paying child maintainence and all. thats why he is doing all these. Hope you get allcleared up soon.

oh yes, I deal with it all the time. My older girls dad would get as far as 10,000.00 in debt and then pay just enough to keep from going to jail when they took him to court which was about once a year. We had 3 girls. My girl's dad now does not pay any support at all. She is 13 and I made a deal with him that if he watched her for the nights that I worked that I would drop the child support. We did a month's trial and it was great. I went to work not worrying about where she was or who she was with. As soon as the papers were all signed ending the support....guess you know what happened. He almost never sees her and I worry about her always when I'm at work. she is too old for a sitter and yet too young to not have any supervision. I take care of my mom all day before going into work for 2nd shift and have no time or money to go back to court. Yes, I feel your anger at deadbeats!!

I've never been thorugh this, I don't have kids, ut I have a great husband. However, my sister in law has been through this. The father of her first child stopped paying for the same reason, because of the lack of a job. She tried to take him to court but he didn't show and they really did nothing to help her. Finally he started to pay again but like your ex, he starts and stops. I'm really sorry about your frustration, but I understand because of how my sister in law feels.

you have all the right to be frustrated. i don't ask my daughter's father for anything. not even a dime. he wasn't there to really help raise my daughter to begin with and i don't want anything from him now either.

Do you know that Carter made it a felony for every $5,000 your spouse gets behind in child support? Mine owes my kids $48,000. But he won't work or get a phone and they won't trace his driver's license for some reason. he lives with people that are willing to protect him and of course his family protects him. My eldest has her degree, but the money would sure help my youngest finish her degrees.

I do not personally have to go through this because my hubby is an excellent father but I watched my grandmother deal with my father growing up. He is such a scumbag he actually adopted his new wifes two kids in order to not have to pay as much. He was paying my g-ma like $35/wk at one point and still not making that happen. I had to apply for medicaid when I was pregnant before and they told me that I was owed back child support from him! LOL I was 24yo at the time. Now he is sitting in the state prison system I dont guess I will be getting that anytime soon. All I can say sweetheart is keep your head up and your child will always remember it. Not to mention Karma is a *beep*(CENSORED) lol
