Why not say, I believe in myself so I don't have to believe in this chair that I'm actually not sitting on. Wether you believe in other things or not dosen't mean they aren't there or that they don't affect your life. Your not just floating in the void. I think I might have getten the point your trying for but think you just worded it poorly. I'd say, I believe in myself & that I am a good person so I don't need some religions organization telling me what to do & how to lead my life.

If it works for you, then it's right for you. *shrugs* I believe in myself but I also believe in Gods. From my perspective, saying you can't believe in any Gods because you believe in yourself is just like saying you can't have any family, friends, or loved ones because you believe in yourself. I don't think believing in Gods takes away from my belief in myself anymore than the other people around me do. But that's just my personal way of thinking about it.

I'm agree with you. I believe my self, but God create the world for us. We can't breath without His air, He create the world coz He love us. We need God, but not all of us realize that. Sorry, just an opinion:D

I think it's neat that you agree with me seeing as I'm saying "Gods" (plural) and you're saying "God" (singular). I'm so used to the monotheism/polytheism battle lines being drawn that it always surprises me when I find situations in which the lines are drawn differently... in this case theist vs. atheist.
