how many of you love to use your cell phone. i know i do, but i thought i would put this out here to see how many people prefer to text and how many prefer to talk.
my guess is more older people like to talk and more of the younger croud likes to text.
but i have already proved that wrong my grandmother textes me along with a lot of my older family members.
whats your take on this.
do you text or talk more?

now based on my job (i talk on the phones all day) i text even more because i dont want to be on the phones any more than i have to. i believe 8 hours a day is plenty.
thanks for commenting!!

I hate to talk on the phone, but love texting.
I think talking on the phone takes up too much time.
Texting can be done without a reply until later.
And I am sort of older..lol

I prefer both and I do either one based on the situation. If I am in public where there are too noisy for me to talk I prefer text whereas in a quiet place I would like to speak. I always tend to talk with more familiar friends and my loved ones.

Now you know Mama Gwen will text, but only if you text her first, or its something short she needs to say, and she is at work. She doesn't conversate on text, she would rather call.
But I will do both, it depends on the situation. If I am just chatting to be chatting, I will text, but if there is a problem, or something I feel its too complicated to text, I'll call.

I text so much more than I talk. Most of the time when you call someone you basically only have a few things to say, so if you say them you run out of stuff to say. Then you are just burning up minutes with awkward silence ha ha. Text messaging is a lot quicker and also more discreet. I'd rather text than talk on the phone any day as long as it wasn't important to be on the phone talking.

i do not know whether this is just a phenomenon in my country but the trend which I observe is that as the call rates continue to drop there is a growing tendency among users to prefer calls over text..and as you have mentioned younger people do like texting but I can not confirm whether its a preference over the other..

I text a lot, along with emailing. I find it's a lot easier to say what you have to say quickly in this busy world by texting, but at the end of the day, I still prefer for my boyfriend and kids to come home and talk about their day. I enjoy the smiles on their faces and the more detailed responses that you get from talking that you don't get from texting.

I would have to say that I definatly text a lot more that I actually talk on my cell phone. It works great for me because I can text while I am walking through the city and I dont have to worry about the person not being able to hear me because of traffic or honking horns or anything like that. I also spend a lot of time on the internet with my phone. That lets me check and write emailsm check the weather, sports scores, pretty much anything that i would normally do on a computer.

In the part of the world I live in, several service providers offer text messaging within the local circle FREE. So, you can guess.

love to use my cell phone, and since i use a pre paid one i would prefer to to text more than call because its cheaper to text than to call and its more convenient for me.with text you can reach a lot of people at a cheaper rates than calling them.

I love to text over speaking on the phone. I think your able to think out what you mean to say and are able to better communicate your message. Also its beauty is the ability for brevity. If all you want to say is a couple simple quick things, your able to, without having to go thru a long unneeded phone call, were you may waste time with mundane details.

In fact most of the time I like to send SMS to communicate with each other. But I like to send it from computer. As it is slow to type in the cellphone. Besides, I can send SMS via the net free of charge. This is why I don't like just send SMS from my cellphone. Sometimes I prefer to make a call by my cellphone then send a SMS.

If I want to have a chat with my parents which are living far away from me, I prefer to have phone conversation. But if it is only a friend and only want to know about few little thing , of course I prefer to use message since using phone will be very expensive.

To tell you the truth, I do not even know how to use the text. The other day, I was standing around and a bunch of people were texting...I still don't see the attraction.

I prefer texting for impersonal and quick messages, and prefer talking for personal or long calls.

I like to use my cell phone only when its something important or if the job is calling me, texting i mostly use for quick talk and fast answers, either that or im somewhere i cant talk like a movie theater. Or if i have to get out of a date i usually txt a buddy to come and call me so i can tell the lady something important has come up. but yeah thats basically what i use my phone for.
