There really isn't many Metallica songs that I won't listen to. But if I had to make a quick list I would say Anything from the Black Album (which I believe is the best album they ever put out from start to finish) also some of my all time favorites of theirs is One, Unforgiven, Unforgiven II, Nothing Else Matters and Fade to Black. Another good song to pump you up would be Fuel.

I like to listen to a whole album at a time. I listen to Kill 'Em All, Ride the Lightning, and Master of Puppets, the most. Well, those albums and Garage Inc. I listen to it a lot too. I like almost all of their stuff though, even Load and Reload, though I don't listen to those albums near as often. St. Anger is the only one I don't care for very much, even if I do like parts of songs and certain riffs here and there.
My favorite songs from them are probably Four Horsemen, Ride the Lightning, Master of Puppets, Motorbreath, and well. . .basically their first 5 albums put together in a giant box set, lol. They've done some really cool cover songs too. Astronomy (originally by Blue Oyster Cult), Mercyful Fate (a medley of Mercyful Fate songs) and Am I Evil (Diamond Head) are also excellent.

I have alot of their songs on my playlist, i dont want to write down all of them but i can tell those i feel are their best song on my list. its Welcome home(sanitarium), one, whiscey in a jar, nothing else matters, Enter sandman, sad but true, the memory remains and king nothing. They have alot more good songs but as i said, i felt just to write my favorite Metallica songs.
Metallica doesnt have any real bad songs, most of them kick a** and are worth listening to.

Ride the Lightening without a doubt.. once listened to it during this enormous thunder storm whilst camping next to a power station (well it seemed calm at the time and we were drunk!). It's perfect for that kind of thing. I prefer the older stuff by them but it's each to their own.
