Do you use spoons, forks and knifes for eating? Is it really necessary to use these extensions/accesories for eating. One factor which has to be considered is the type of dish.
In India its very popular and considered good to eat with one's own hand. Ofcouse a well cleaned hand.
What do you think...

Hi vmadhavi31, I use spoon and folk when I am taking food at home as I always put the food in the plate. It is quite easy and convenient for me to eat noodles using chopsticks rather than spoon and folk. When taking western food, like lamb shoulder and fish fillets, I use folk and knife.

I am a Chinese, and our habit is to use chopsticks to have a meal. And we will use spoon to drink a soup. Since we have not habit to eat with hands, so we are not comfortable to it. I think it's nothing wrong, but just culture difference.

Hello dear friend. We usually eat with chopsticks for rice and dish, but spoons for soup. For small kids, we teach them to use spoons first before they are old enough to use chopsticks. We have varities of chopsticks in China, made of bamboo, wood, silver, plastics and so on. But the most-frequently used chopsticks are those bamboo ones. Thanks.
