There are rumors that Rapidshare has been shut down by the authorities. Other sites claim that its down due to server overload. What ever the situation is, one thing is for certain. Most of us, if not all would be without Rapidshare for sometime. Does anyone know more about this matter?

it really does not matter at all. If rapidshare is shut down one of two things will happen:
1. Some underground organisation somewhere will bring it back online in some form somehow or
2. people will realise they can download their files from torrents, usenet or other file hosting places as people upload files they would normally uploaded to rapidshare somewhere else.
Either way its not a big loss.

yes you are right,
but what about the thousands of people who av spent cash buying accounts.
Some people even make a living buying and selling accounts.
so i dont think everything is as straight forward as u think.
It affects a lot more pple than u think

if there is someone who has bought an account on rapidshare then they are so stupid its beyond belief. Why the hell would you pay for that crap when simply doing some stuff gets you unlimited downloads anyway.

i don't know anything about rapidshare being down.. it's working when i last downloaded... maybe the site is just being fixed or upgraded when you last checked it...
