Are you jealous of your neighbour becoming successfull ?

I have remarked that many people seem to admire a lot of already rich people who most of the time just inherited their fortune so that they don't deserve any real admiration whereas they would get jealous if ever their neighbour would become successfull. Are you someone jealous or would you on the contrary try to be friend with that person and learn from him ?

I'm not jealous of anyone. I admire people who have better things than I do. It inspires me to work harder so I can have those things also.

Thank you. I wish alot more people would work hard for things instead of stealing from others because they do not want to work or they are jealous of that person.

Hmm, I guess there will be at one point you'll feel a little jealous, but then, you can't just be jealous and envy your neighbor all your life. I guess, in my case, I will do all my best to be successfull as well. If he or she can do it, why can't I? right?

Did you analyze why ? I think being jealous prevents you from being successfull.

I don't get jealous. I am very competitive so their success is a new challenge for me to beat and I try to work to achive more than they did. There is no reason to be jealous. Jealousy won't make you better than them. Just keep trying harder to to even better than your neighbor.

Great but then why do you absolutly to compete with others ? Doesn't it suffice to achieve something with your own set goal ? For example my set goal is 10000$ to 20000$ per month because it would allow me to quit my salaried job (I'm in Europe 10000$ seems big but isn't because social charges and tax are very high ovver there). I don't care if Mr John is making double more than me ? But I think I know what you mean it's rather emulation than competition.

I think people do get jealous. I used to get really jealous, but now that I'm older and I've had my fai share of success; I don't any more. I think though that I look back and think about how things could have been different, but now I knoe that my success is only on me...not other people.
