Even though my sis and I are 7 years apart [she's 11 and I'm 17] we fight a lot, and often violently. We have an extreme love-hate relationship, and sometimes I fear that she's going to really hurt me. We often get to the point where someone is bleeding or badly bruised. My mom never realy does anything about it, and my sister and I usually calm down, and an hour later we're laughing and joking around again. I think we both might be bi-polar or something. :P

My sister and I are 7 years apart and we used to fight like crazy too ..when we were younger...but never to the point of hurting one another really bad....yes, a few nail marks and scratching and hair pulling....but never hitting with something hard or anything that we know will hurt the other. But now that we are adults, all that has stopped and we are very close to each other now. If there's something we don't like, we talk about it.

I think that is bad for the two of you to fight that hard. I also fight a lot with my husband and sometimes we have reached to the point of we are already hurting each other. But afterwards we calm down also and become good friends again. But I know this is wrong because it should not reach into a cruel and brutal fight. I think we should learn to calm and talk the problem. Anyway we are older than you but not that old. For the two of you I think later you will grow mature and would not do it especially if you have bf already.

WOW, I'm glad to know that me and my sis were not the only ones like that!! The only difference is that we are just 2 years and one week apart.
We fought EVER day like the way that you described. We would come home from school and take our frustrations from the day out on each other...and there were many bruises and blood shed. And like you, after about an hour we acted like nothing ever happened...we were inseparable!! We always confused the crap out of our parents because they'd never seen anything like it before. The sad thing, and I found this out much later when I was 20, was that my sister was very scared of me but she knew that I would never seriously hurt her even though I could, and she took advantage of that and would try her hardest to beat the snot out of me. That actually hurt my feelings when I heard that...to know that my sister was intentionally hurting me because she knew I wouldn't hurt her.
I don't know what to tell you besides that time will heal and you will stop fighting. When I do not know. It actually took my sister moving out for us to stop fighting, but even now we still have our heated arguments. So I don't think it ever stops. But hopefully with the age gap that you have, you two will grow out of it.

That is sad! I think that sisters should be best friends. my girls are 6 years apart(17 and 11) and they are best friends. They get along great and they rarely ever fight. The older one spoils her sister so bad!!
You as the older should really try to get along better with your sister.

i have a brother that i act the same way with except im 21 and hes 13, now that hes gettin older he sometimes gets the better of me but only because i cant bring myself to really fight back, maybe you guys should sit down and talk and see what it is that drives you guys to fight like that.

really..i dont think so the way i see it is normal to fight ..it happens to me too in which my parents intervened and reprimanded my brother..

I dont have a sister, but i always wished i had one growing up. Maybe you and your sister could try to agree to walk away from eachother before you start to get violent, and taht way you will skip the whole bruised and bleeding part of your relatioshsip! hhehe I'd think it'd be worth a tgry anyways. I guess though i can't udnerstand your relationship entirely since i'm not a sister. I had a brother, and i am older, so i always beat him up when we fought! but we never really fought much. My mom tried to teach us to be nice to eachother. . We are both pretty timid people so i geuss that had something to do with it.

my mom used to interfere when we fought and not always fair, so I never paid attention to her opinion when it comes to me fighting with anybody. maybe it's a good thing your mom didn't interfere because then both of you made peace anyway

i think it is normal sisters or brother have a fight. But of course deep inside your heart you always have love for her or him. I also had fight often with my older brother. But after we both grown up, we did not do it often anymore. Nad now even we live far away. So there is no time or chance to have a fight.
