Which is best software for Movie editing?

I have a Video of my brother's wedding which length is up to 3 hours i want to computerized it. Actually i want to add some still pictures and some animations in it. So please refer me the best software and tell how to use it and also tell is there any easy method to encode it to Windows media players format. Please help.

There are many softwares as per your requirement... but if you just want to cut ur VCD movies then u can use VCD cutter and u can add two movies into one by this software... if u want to do some work on DVD movies then there is a software named Power DVD. It can play DVD movie file and can cut and add DVD movie files as well...
