Why are the level ratings on MyLot different from topic to topic?

Hi ~ I've been missing from MyLot for a while and just made my way back. I see that there is a new (at least for me) rating number - Levels.
I could not find the explaination for this easily and am wanting to find out how this works and just what it means. I see my Level is different from topic to topic -- how is this figured out?
Thanks for any help!

I think it rates your level of input that you have done in each category. I think it rates how active you are or have been.
I'm not sure but I think this is how it works.

I think that you are discussing interest rankings. For a popular topic like life or people the highest level I see some people have is 16. However for the topic like travel the highest level some people have is 11. There are higher numbers of discussion on topics like life, people, My Lot and making extra money. It is easier to get a high ranking number like level 16 for more popular topics than it is a less popular topic. If you only discussed Internet then you would waiting around more discussions on it to be posted. You would probably get a high interest ranking level on it. I like to reply to discussions on many different topics.
