ahan . didnt know that today was Owen Hargreaves Birthday . well.. i wishh him all the success in the years to come :) .. and about his performance this season .. its been really good .. he has been bossing the midfield superbly.. he's there to spruce up the defence .. when needed and .. also.. to give Manchester United extra punch . in their attack... as can be seen lately . hes also a very good free kick taker which is an added bonus .. he missed to get on the score sheet against reading by a whisker if it wasnt for the wonderful save from the reading goalkeeper ..althou he has had his injuries but still ... for me . his performance for Manchester United so far has been commendable

Happy Birthday to Owen, he's made the change from Bundesliga to EPL look seemingless. He oozes confidence and calmness and I've been a big fan of this player for well over 5 years. If he can keep clear of injury, he could spend at least the next 5 years bossing that Man U midfield. His performance v Spurs this weekend was superb.

I like what I see of Hargreaves. But somewhere I feel that he is not the person whom I used to see play for Bayern Munich. He used to have far more presence in the Bayern team than what he has in the Manchester United team. I somehow believe he has not grown to the stature that he could have grown in the United team.
Cheers!

well hargreaves is one of the positive move that fergi have done this season..he fits well into the squad...after the retirement of roy keane we really needed a holding mid field player..carrick is doin a good job..but when it comes to the european stages hargreaves have more experience and he is also a good freekick taker...

When he first joined Manchester United from Bayern Munich of Germany earlier this season I was delighted because I know the team really need a midfield hardman. Ever since Roy Keane left, United haven't had one and I believe every great team need to have one, for example Chelsea (Claude Makelele) and AC Milan (Gennaro Gattuso). And Hargreaves does his job well protecting the defense while allowing his more creative midfield team mates such as Anderson and Ronaldo to join the attack. The only thing I regret is he seems not be able to play a string of matches, always seems to injured himself after every other game. If he can stay injury free and played consistently instead, I believe he will be a great asset to Manchester United for many years to come.

I think he is a great player and also the most bizarre English soccer player as he became famous and well known without playing even a single match in EPL before joining manchester... He and Carrick make a great Def Mid couple for united...

First of all, Happy Birthday to Owen.
I guess Owen has been on and off this season and so far this season's been kind of like a stop-start for him. Injury has limited the number of matches that he's played so far. But now he's claiming that he is injury free completely and is ready to play regularly. Whenever he's played this season, he's proved himself to be extremely useful and slightly different from what people are used to seeing from Carrick. He's much more forceful. His partnership with Anderson in the center of midfield has really been a revelation for United. Hopefully he'll be in pristine condition from now on as United are nearing the business end of the season and need all the services they can afford to win a few titles.

He was a good player back when he was playing for Bayern Munich, but now in MU he is not untouchable anymore. With Anderson and Carrick showing good performances, it will be quite hard for Hargreaves to shine above them. Don't forget sometimes O'Shea and Scholes take his position too.
