If I can't sleep during the night, I get up and make myself a glass of milk then I go back to sleep - this works for me. If not, I listen to music to get some sleep. I listen to any song though including rock - and it makes me sleep I don't really know why. But ballads and oldies sounds better when trying to sleep. I listen to classical as weel like Beethoven, Bach and Mozart.

Any really, really slow song would be good. If you have a CD of all slow music, that would do it.
Reading something really, really boring can do it, too.
I have relaxation tapes for just this occasion. They usually tell you to relax and then name each part of the body from your feet to the top of your head, by the time you get to your head, you're asleep-usually.
I see this was 11 hours ago, hope you have rested. Good luck and take care

Soft music makes me fall asleep. When I was young, my mom made me drink a glass of milk so that I would have a sound sleep. Free your mind of any worry too.

Before when I can't sleep. I listened to an old song, "a time for us" instrumental and I felt sleepy then I slept. Do you know that song?a soundtrack of the movie "romeo and juliet" old version. If not, then I started to count 1 to 100 and backwards until I became sleepy. Slowly counting and imaging the number 1 by 1. I thought it was crazy but it worked. I drink warm milk. Now I try to empty my mind and tell myself to sleep. I hope it works also for you. For me, it did.
