Wish I could help ya but I don't think I ever experienced a midlife crisis, unless of course you count divorce after 16 years of marriage, going back to college, loosing 150 lbs, driving a sports car instead of a mini-van, dying your hair, and moving 1600 miles (hush Charlotte!!! lol). Not that I've done any of that, ok, maybe a couple of them, but I just had my 48th birthday yesterday LOL. Not sure any of that was due to midlife crisis, divorce was due to a bad marriage, went back to work on my bachelor's degree, lost 150 lbs cause I stopped getting on the scale at 290! I've been coloring my hair since I was in my 20's (hush Charlotte!!) however, I do drive a '07 Mustang ( man is that fun! lol) and as for the 1600 mile move, well, who says life doesn't start at 45?!!!

Midlife crisis means that all of a sudden you think you have done many things in your life wrong and decide that you will change these things immediately as you are getting over the hill and time is running out. So people give up an undesirable job, find a new partner or move out to the wood or go on a world trip or buy a sports car.
Of course this is all not true, the life they had was quite ok, it is just a misconception when people notice that they get older. Often they would be better off if they accepted aging and stay put in their situation.
