I will give you the information of what you need. Since technology is advancing every minute, every week, every month and every year - you have to know or want to know what is recommended, what's popular, but what is quality performance - If you're talking about the best processor worldwide - The Intel Core 2 Duo and the Core 2 Quad - no processor can keep up with its powerful speed and performance. Mac systems are even using the new Intel C2 chips - now if I were to choose Mac OS X or XP - I'm a PC User so I'd use XP - even over Windows Vista.
Now if I was a Mac user yes I'd choose OS X over XP - for one the setup of Mac OS X, configuration, setting up network configuration on LAN or wireless is pretty simple -just like Windows XP - for troubleshooting times - I deal with more bugs with XP than I do with the MAC OS X - that doesn't mean XP is not a stable Operating System - it is! But with the fact that hardware compatibility problems happen more often with Windows XP due to Blue Screen Errors, memory errors - Now of course Mac Systems are built by companies and not by us. - Bigger difference why most MAC systems don't deal with much problems with hardware compatibility issues.
