yes thanks, dont worry too much, I am always keeping a safe look out for tigers here... Do you know in California we have Mountain Lions that live naturally in the mountains here?
I have not been to the zoo for a long while. There are other places to visit here, see you!

Yes, I think a lot of people on here know about this attack. There were a few discussions on it right after it happened.
I also heard one of the boys confessed that the three of them were tormenting the tiger. I don't blame the tiger one bit for these kids stupidity.
I used to visit this zoo frequently when I was little and there was never any problems with tigers escaping, at least not the way this one did. It's sad that the tiger was shot and killed because of this. :(

well, it sad for the tiger, but this is tragic for the parents of this kid right?..it depends what your definition of tormenting is. Even 5 year olds that visit the zoo will torment tigers and animals in one fashion or another (making faces, growling, trying to get the attention of the animal). This does not mean they should die.
The zoo certainly should make it impossible for a tiger to escape. This tiger could have killed 5 or 10 people by the time the cops shot it.

True, but most 5 year olds can't throw things or climb like teenagers or adults can. Plus most parents aren't dumb enough to let their kids walk around unsupervised at this age, especially when there are wild animals present. I know I wouldn't allow my kids to do so!
Without a doubt this tiger COULD HAVE easily attacked many more people, before she was shot down, but she didn't. She was found relaxing next to one of the victims and when the police confronted her. She DID NOT try to attack any of these officers either...only these particular kids that were tormenting her.
Animals are very smart creatures and most of the time will only attack when they are provoked. And these kids most have provoked the hell out of her in order for her to have attacked them.
