I would like to go with some teams that are surprising but have been really consistent as well. Lakers, Orlando Magic, New Orleans Hornets and the Portland Trailblazers. Obviously lowly teams like the Heat, Knicks, Minnesota and Chicago will be out of the running for a play-off spot.

I agree with all those teams. They hae been quite consistent. Yet I worry for my Laker team, with Bynum out I hope the team makes proper adjustments and can hang on...

Obviously with Bynum out for eight weeks they will toughness in the middle. A starting center of Kwame Brown just won't do in this league. Too soft and turn-over prone with no offensive move whatsoever. But i think Kobe can weather the storm on his own til Bynum comes back. Also, Odom should be more active now. Time to step-up.. Still Bynum will be back for the play-offs. That should be a welcome note.

Yeah, I'm hoping Houston will advance to the playoffs also...
I'm rally wondering why Houston has a slim chance in making if to the playoffs? They have strong players and they have Rick Adelman, a good coach. Yao and McGrady(despite his injury) is playing well this season and they have Wells, Scola, and Alston. that should be enoughto be a playoff contender.

Well one big surprise team is the portland trail blazers, they are hot and contending for a playoff spot, that one felt they had the ability to compete for.
